Tweaking.com domain in not on the black list of my company, but Facebook is.
As many other web sites around the world, if you put the facebook script at the end of the html code, in our company everyone can visit tweaking.com web site.

In today situation, we can see only the black banner on top of your website.

Just to let you know the situation. If you google around, you will see that many companies are blocking social networks like facebook and what I suggested is a common solution applied by web designers, in order to let users with blocked social, access their web sites.

Feedback & Suggestions / Tweaking.com web site Facebook script
« on: February 22, 2017, 01:10:21 am »
Hi,
from the office I can not see Tweaking.com site as there is following script that is blocked by company's firewall:

<script src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"></script>

Is it possible to move it at the end of the web page code, so I can access the web page?

Thanks!

Hi,
I tried during the WE some deep investigations and tests:

- disabling some driver I was able to rebuild my windows 10 installation by the Microsoft official Windows 10 distribution, chosing to keep apps and files. It ended with a working O.S. but every app is not present, except the system apps (cortana and 3 more) that are located in \Windows\SystemApps\

- I used a new local user built only for tests

- I disabled firewall

- I got the ownership and permission as user logged on of hidden folder \Program Files\WindowsApps\

- I tried to reinstall store by the powershell commandlet that registers again the apps, using AppxManifest.xml. The system apps are registered correctly, other apps that are in folder \Program Files\WindowsApps\ ended with a generic error 404 of AppxDeployment-Server, saying that app manifest is not in the root. I checked and the file AppxManifest.xml IS in the root.

- I searched for hours in internet but I was not able to find anything related to apppackage server error 404

Keep going but it is really a mess.

As it is not an OEM Windows, I can do it.
Thanks anyway for the warning.

Thanks for suggestion, but no way.

I also tried to repair install but after a couple of reboots, a sysprep error arises, related to boot disk .

Better to install Win10 from scratch when I will change the motherboard and processor.

General Computer Support / Windows10 fails to update store apps
« on: February 06, 2017, 02:07:30 am »
I have a PC where store apps are working but refuse to upgrade or install new ones.
I tried the complete reinstall of store in Windows repair AIO but no way.
Windows update is working perfectly.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Re: Missing Default Reparse Point

I had in last scan same issue, that in my case I can not fix. Probably it is due to different paths that you can find in Windows of different languages and coming from upgrades of previous version.

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Re: Repair Icons & Recycler icon on desktop
« on: November 04, 2016, 09:42:01 am »
Thanks guys. I followed suggestion in second link by Boggin (deleting $Recycle.bin folder) but issue is still present.
As you see from image attached, the reclycle bin is full but the icon is showing it as empty.
The functions of recycle bin are working perfectly, only the icon is not showing the actual state of recycle bin. Always the empty bin is displayed.
I will try repair #34 too.
Some other ideas?
Bye.

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Repair Icons & Recycler icon on desktop
« on: November 03, 2016, 09:47:29 am »
I have a Windows 10 x64 1607 completely updated and The Recycler icon is always the empty or full one and doesn't reflect the real state of Recycler.
I tried the Repair Icons function of AIO, but the issue remains.
I tried also to enable and disable the Recycle icon on desktop and repair them on the window attached, but no way.

Any idea to solve this issue?

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Re: How to restore if keyboard not working
« on: October 20, 2016, 07:01:05 am »
I am not sure, but I suppose regbackup is able to restore only on online registry and when you are in dos prompt mode your Windows registry is in offline mode.

14
Thanks for clarifying.
I hope I am not obliged soon to refresh my OS installation.

15
I was not able to explain correctly.
I intended "original" as the ISO image taken from Microsoft and burned to DVD. It was always the 1607 Win 10 x 64 italian.

16
Three.  :cheesy:

17
The refresh was done with 1607 Anniversary image, the same that is installed in the PC.

If you have a backup made by Windows utility or a restore point, you can boot with the original Win7 DVD and click "repair" after the first screen with language choice.
If you have working the keyboard under BIOS, normally you have it in WinRE too. WinRE is the small OS loaded with a repair USB key or DVD, or by the original DVD with complete OS onboard.

After you go to advanced utilities and you can chose to restore from a restore point or from a Windows backup.
It has to work, in theory :)

AIO needs net framework to start, and in WinRE (booting from a restore USB or DVD) it is not available.
Under customized WinPE, with net framework installed, AIO does work, but unfortunately it can not repair the original operating system, as it access the registry of WinPE environment, normally in drive X: and not the usual C: drive of the OS to repair.

This WE I solved my problem but I don't know how.  :shy:
I breaked my Marvell RAID0 and after some restores using Acronis 2016 and using WinRE boot fix, as original restore was not able to finish the boot, I was able to boot to my desktop.
At this point in safe mode both keyboard and mouse are still not working, but I noted that drivers of mouse and keyboard were reverted to Windows 10 default ones.
Then I used the original Win10 1607 x64 image burned in a DVD to do a refresh of installation, keeping apps and personal files.

As soon as it finished its job, I have luckly the keyboard and mouse working on safe mode!
Probably Windows installer this time detected something wrong on driver management and changed it to default clean installation procedure.
Unfortunately what I did is not a solution but a miracle that worked in my configuration.

Never installed a Norton software under Win10 but I had keyboard and mouse not working under safe mode.

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Does AIO repair remote or disconnected OS?
« on: October 05, 2016, 01:43:03 am »
Is there a command or a script that enables the repair on a remote or offline Operating System? If not, can you think about introducing it?

It could be very usefull if you are not able to boot to the Operating System, both in normal mode or safe mode.
In ths case you can use a WinPE customized disk with netframework, that is needed to run AIO.
I already tried and AIO works perfectly under WinPE with netframework but it detects the WinPE environment and not the Windows OS to repair, even if the files where damaged Windows is installed are accessible.

Thanks and bye.

25
I tried two times to reinstall Windows 10 with the original Win10 1607 DVD, keeping files and apps, but no way.
AIO doesn't solve the issue, probably because you can't run it in safe mode.
Probably it is needed a clean install or to keep files only.

For me will be the last try, as I have a configuration that needs at least one week to rebuild it as it is now.
