General Computer Support / Hard Drives
« on: August 06, 2018, 12:30:55 am »
Hey guys I just bought a ASUS ROG Desktop. It came with a 250 GIG SSD and a Seagate 1tb SATA Drive. All work great. I bought a 2nd 4 TB Seagate SATA Drive and hooked it up to the 2nd sata channel and neither drives show up or sometimes only one of the sata drives show up in file manager or disk management. If I hook them up by themselves they work fine. I have contacted ASUS and they told me to update the bios to version 305 which I did. Still does not work and trying to get a straight anser from them is impossible. In the bios the drives show up when only 1 sata is hooked up, but does not when both sata are hooked up. Any ideas guys ?

General Computer Support / Cannot see Port error in Bitcomet
« on: November 19, 2017, 09:16:17 pm »
Hi guys, got a problem, I installed 3 different VPN free softwares and I could not get any of them to work so I un-installed them and ran ccleaner to remove what was not removed and deleted references to the programs in the registry. Now when I load bitcomet it says "Can not listen to port 25615, (25615UDP)" I am dual booting with windows 10 so I booted into 10 and installed bitcomet and it works fine. So the vpn software has screwed up settings for bitcomet, I checked windows firewall and it is being allowed to send data out. Am stumped.(:

General Computer Support / RAID
« on: April 13, 2017, 10:08:18 pm »
Hey guys i just bought from ebay a couple of RAID Cages with drives. They are a SANS DIGITAL TowerRAID TR4M eSATA 4-drive tower JBOD/RAID w/Four 2TB Hard Drives (Setup up using JBOD), this connects through a ESATA card and a OWC MERCURY ELITE-AL PRO Qx2 - 8TB OF STORAGE (4 2 tb drives)(Setup up as RAID 5), this connects via USB. When i am fully booted up my mouse is acting jerky and i sometimes get the blue screen of death in Windows 7 Home Premium. Can these 2 cages conflict with each other. Also the Sans sometimes locks up when i try to run a chkdsk on drives 2 3 4. I copied over 1tb of files to drive 1 with no problems. I have taken the drives out and connected them to my docking station and all loaded fine and checked out fine using chkdsk. Any suggestions ????

General Computer Support / WDTV (Western Digital TV Box)
« on: October 06, 2016, 11:04:18 pm »
Anyone have one of these? When I first got it I could access all usb drives connected to it from all my pc's and imac. Now only the imac can see the usb drives and copy from them. I cannot write to them from the imac (drives are NTFS). On the pc's now I only see a WDTV listed under networks and when I click on it it loads the WDTV web page to logon and edit the settings for the drive. Before there was also another wdtv and when I clicked on it it expanded to show all drives connected to the WDTV. Am confused as to why all of a sudden this has happened. All the usb drives have sharing set via windows 7.

« on: July 07, 2015, 01:54:39 pm »
Hi guys, does anyone own a Boxie and if so have you installed the Boxie+ hack, have you had any problems with it. Have you also tried the XMBC program and do you have to leave either of these programs on the usb stick when you turn boxie on. The Boxie+ one installs. Also having problems on getting the boxie to recoginize some of the moves and tv shows, any suggestions would be helpful :)

Hey guys is there a program out there that works and you do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out to get the poster artwork and metadate for the movies that the boxie does not correctly identify. I have played around with Plex server and Meta server. I just want to add this info to my movie and tv show data base so my boxie will read it.

General Computer Support / Hard Drive Died
« on: April 04, 2015, 12:48:20 pm »
Hey guys, i bought a 5 terabyte drive (seagate) back in october, worked great until now. Was transfer 250 gigs of files to it. Let it run over night and when i checked it the next day it was still working fine. Checked back a few hours later and i have a duplicate file message so i told it to overwrite the file. After 30 minutes of waiting it was still showing the busy icon. Computer was locked up could not do anything, not even ctrl alt delta would work. I had no choice but to power off via power button on computer. Now the drive light is flossing fast and i cannot see the drive on any on my computer (both pc and MAC). Seagate tells me it is an internal power problem, yet i can see the drive listed in sea tools but i cannot run any of the tests, that all fail. Is the a way of getting into this drive. I have tried different USB cable with no luck. I want to get the data back. That is 2 seagate drives that have bit the dust on me.:(

« on: August 31, 2014, 09:00:45 pm »
Need major help. I cannot get onto the internet via any browser and i cannot check my email, but i can download with bit comet and get my updates with curse add-on program for WOW. I am with telus optic and they have informed me that my computer is infected with the Citidal virus. I have ran every virus program they suggested (except the online ones because no inet access via browser). I have also ran tweaking.com's program "Windows all in one Repair" and bleeping computer's network repair tool (twice). For the life of me i cannot get this fixed. And yes i have reset the windsock etc. (Windows all in one repair air does that and more)
