General Computer Support / Windows Update Hangs Indefinitley

Hi,
I ’m running Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit with SP1 and haven’t been able to get Windows Update to work since mid-March. I am experiencing 2 problems without receiving any error codes: 1) Windows Update will not download or install any new updates, not even 1 or 2 small updates, instead it hangs indefinitely indicating 0% downloaded; and 2) Windows Update hangs indefinitely when checking for updates. I ran Windows Update Troubleshooter 3 times today. Each time it found error 0x80070057, but was not able to fix it. Next I downloaded and ran your Windows Repair v3.9.3 twice in Safe Mode selecting 37 jobs both times, including Repair Windows Updates. No issues were found. However, I still have the same 2 problems with Windows Update, except now the update history was reset and no new updates are displayed until I can successfully check for updates.
Any suggestions how I can resolve this error and get Windows Update working properly.
Thanks, Gregg
