General Computer Support / Re: Error message: Folder Access Denied
« on: July 28, 2015, 02:30:52 pm »
Previously I said I changed some stuff with the anti-virus software, I found myself was mistaken with that thing, the AV itself got nothing to do with such issues and might be that solved accidentally with other things I tried that time, today I solved such an issue by Enabling the "Application Experience" service (AeLookupSvc),  such issues often pop up for advanced users and heavily tweakers, since the Application Experience service is auto by default. Also some people mentioned the "Windows Search" service (WSearch) might lock files/folder while indexing is running, so if enabling the "Application Experience" service didn't work, try to disable/stop the "Windows Search" service (WSearch).

P.S. This issue isn't about NT user account privileges or/and NTFS permissions/owners.

General Computer Support / Just a follow up with an old topic

Hey Shane, I was trying to PM you to request you to unlock my previous topic but I got this note " User 'Shane' has blocked your personal message."
Any way, I started a topic in the past here at (http://www.tweaking.com/forums/index.php/topic,2756.0/topicseen.html), and since it's locked now I want to edit it for good, in that topic I asked why would a folder/file get locked in Windows Os for some several minutes and for an unknown reason, in that topic I said I changed some with the antivirus software, but the AV itself got nothing to do with such issues and today I found myself was mistaken with that thing, and might be that solved it accidentally with other things I tried that time, today I solved such an issue by Enabling the "Application Experience" service,  such issues often pop up for advanced users and heavily tweakers, since the Application Experience service is auto by default. That's it, bye.

I am already an admin user, well that has disappeared since I changed some parameters in the eset's settings.

Well I doubt about that, you know I start to dislike eset stuff nowadays,  any way do you think that (attached pic) would solve it?

You know this service makes the Windows easy, a new discovery that "ShellHWDetection" is responsible to show the BitLocker Drive's in the Computer So w/o that svc, we have manually in the control panel or by cmd.

Perhaps it's because you have been playing around with the files that you are getting the error messages that you are and it's time to put them back to the way Windows prefers ?

No.

Have you checked to see what a sfc /scannow reports with and without it enabled ?

What! I do not use that command, you want me to ruin my Windows' files, I do not want to restore any file to the original version, because I like what I change in the files, and I can change any file or replace any file by myself, just thanks, no thanks for SFC service.

That is a interesting find. I wouldn't have guessed that ShellHWDetection Service would have anything to do with the cd drive showing up as a burner lol

Shane

And an interesting find to me as well, because the ShellHWDetection Service the responsible for displaying some annoying messages such as when you insert a USB device, it shows to fix it or display the the auto-run options. I wanna tell Windows that "I do not care about fixing my usb drives and I do not want the auto-run shit. Just leave me alone." Regardless of that I have found Windows is not accurate when tell me that the usb thumb drive needs to be fixed, I have tried it and found no errors, so why that annoying stuff, goodness  :omg:

I have tried many things but finally I figured out that the damn ShellHWDetection Service which I hate so much and disable it on the first startup after the Windows installation was the cause of that issue. So I have to decide to enable it to get the built-in burning feature or to keep it disabled and use any other third-party burning tools. I have opt to keep it disabled because I hate it, lol  :cheesy:

Hello! This is Win7x86 I have purchased a new DVD drive, I see this [attached image] any idea how to let the Windows read the drive better than just a CD drive :undecided: by the way the Nero can read/write to this DVD drive, but Windows built-in burning feature is not working with it.  Thanks!

No bad, I will have to check those out when I have time :-)

Shane

There is "PRTG Network Monitor"  but it's heavy on resources. I will keep you updated if I found  a simple lightweight network hardware monitor with alerts

Far as I know just windows updates and any extra programs from the Microsoft site. Normally anything extra to add to the system is blocked.

Shane

So, just no updates and no stuff  from the Microsoft site. It's not that big deal  since there are a lot of tools for offline updates, still the user running their OS and paying nothing for Microsoft . any way  it's better if Microsoft  wiped off the hdd after those 30 days

You didn't get my question, I was not talking  about the activation, I am saying that if someone didn't activate the windows then there will be no updates, right ?  is that's all or there is other things!

Here is I found a simple tool called HWMonitor, has some basic network functionality, the idea of it that you  set PC A on the listening mode then on PC B you connect to PC A by it's IP Address and on Port 25021 TCP. It's so simple and no central management or any alerts could be configured to be sent to the admin. I like the idea for now, but can not use it since I cannot find a way to let it start minimized to the tray, if there is anyone could figure out how to start the HWMonitor minimized to the tray on Windows start-up, let me know  :undecided:

I have found a little utility called "HWMontray" at http://sfkilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=25

God bless the author of it
