I checked Device Manager for an update but it said the latest one was already installed, even though it's dated 2011 which is when the machine was bought.
I think i desactivated the onboard(MB Asus Z87Pro ) Realtek integrated audio/Drivers when they were not anymore so often updated( perhaps in 2019)
when the Microsoft Drivers had to be WHQL certified to run on fresh install of win10 (by Windows Hardware Developer Center Dashboard ) had been put in place by Microsoft in a purpose to avoid interences between old/not often updated corrupting the kernel
that kind of worries(french version) : https://support.microsoft.com/fr-fr/help/4529832/updating-to-windows-10-version-1903-on-devices-with-some-driver-versio

Probablely, for laptops integrated CPUs, audio and GPU drivers are doing the glitches, i have a desktop with intel processor I7(4th gen), Asus Z87Pro Mb with intel gpu +realtek   integrated but i have a nvidia graphic card , so i guess i avoided most of the worries (and if could remember well i gave up realtek audio updates , and used the microsoft ones(new certification for drivers, prior to win1809)

I got the update through Windows Update, but the following day the laptop began freezing.

I tried a number of things before finally using the system image I'd created beforehand to restore back to 1909.

On Googling, it suggests that this freezing could be because of outdated drivers and to update them in Safe Mode with Networking but if the machine is frozen, then that wouldn't be possible.
Hi, saw somewhere but couldnt remember where, that Hewlett Packard has released a specific patch for their laptops with installation prior to the Update to Win10 2004 , as there were many laptops from their brand stuck with latest microsoft update

ps : from my side i had, constant refresh loop in explorer.exe folders and desktop icons every 10s :  So i remove most of "none-microsoft" ShellExt (context right click menu ) and had to uninstall E-Share(ncryptedcloud)

These major updates tend to reset everything - pretty much like a repair install, but I don't know why it isn't retaining your Skype creds.

Perhaps you should report these changes to Microsoft through Feedback.

I would hold off on using the repair program until it has been updated, which I'm sure Shane will be working on now.

Hi Boggin, thanls for your suggestions i will delay the repair until next update :)
best regards]

Hi,
just updated to win10Pro 2004(from 1909):
i have some worries : Win seems to forget at each new session my credentials for skype , cloud providers(& at the begining all my emails in WLM2012)
very annoying .
i encounter lot of esent errors in the system events diary (i tried to reset by deleting SRUDB.dat linked  to the diagnostic provider service) : no improvment
the scanhealth and sfc /scannow command reported no errors

i did a scan for the  System Reparse Points , i have many of them 240 to be corrected,
i would like to know if its safe with WR209 v4.80 to repair them as it hasn't been yet updated for the last Win update 2004

EDIT: Explorer.exe is continously taking much cpu ressources 40%(i think linked to e-share(formerly ncryptedcloud) freezing i cant access to its parameters )
i did a check disk on all drives

ps: i had to change when updating win10, my login from local account to microsoft account also

thanks
