Yeah something is really screwed up.

We are going to have to dig a little deeper

Did you try any of the things Tomas_Sweden posted?

Shane

yup..tried a bit..but stuck!!

I did run
Code: [Select]
%windir%\system32\dfrgui.exe but nothing is running..
then..
tried to run it in cmd but failed...
then..
tried this:-
Code: [Select]
A:
a. Open the "Start" menu.
b. Type %Windir%\Inf in the "Search" box and press "Enter".
c. In the window that opens, find the file named "dfrg.inf".
d. Right-click on "dfrg.inf" and "Install."

after doing it.... its saying,  Defragmenter  is not installed !! so ...followed your 1st reply to remove this error.

after that...

I couldnot understand
Code: [Select]
B
b. Type rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\dfrg.inf and press "Enter"  !!

So skipped it...

After that...

I tried C
Code: [Select]
C:
a. Go to Start >All Programs>Accessories>Right Click on Command Prompt> select "Run As Administrator"
b. At command prompt, type regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll and hit "Enter."
c. Type regsvr32 dfrgui.dll and hit "Enter." This will reinstall any missing defragger files.

then got this error:-

OK so we know it isnt DEP and it isnt an infection. :cheesy:

What other programs give this error or is it only that one?

Shane

the other soft which gave me this kind of error is... SPEEDbit Video Accelerator  ..except these two...no other is giving me this error !!

Also, see if you can run defrag from a cmd window

Go to start and in the run put in cmd and hit enter.

When it opens just type in defrag.exe and see what happens

Shane

cmd showing this !! problem is still there ... :(

Ok so looks like your system is clean.

IS KasperskyPasswordManager (stpass.exe) the only one giving you the error?

Also do you know how to check if DEP is enabled on your system?
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-data-execution-prevention-settings

but make sure it is set to the first option and not the 2nd.

Shane

sir,

I just checked...the first option is enabled !!

If you look in services (type "services.msc" in search) and look at "Disk Defragmenter" see if "startup type" is set to "Disabled" if it is change to Manual and try again.

Tomas

Sir,

I followed but couldn't find any Disk Defragmenter !!

Might be an infection, so lets check that first.

Download tdsskiller.exe and malwarebytes

If you are able to run them have them both scan your system and let me know how it goes

Shane

Mr. Shane

I downloaded tdsskiller.exe and malwarebytes. tdsskiller couldnot find anything but malwarebytes delete 3 things.. posting malwarebytes logs:-
