General Computer Support / (Solved)which AVI format should i Choose to play my Sony Dvd dvpsr660p

Hi,
                Hither to i used to convert flv or any hd format video files to avi format to play in my dvd. But nowadays whenever i try to play, i get data error (VIDEO). I think that it is due fo file format error. There are many avi formats in General video format , like H264,one that is Audio video  Interleaved by open source,and Divx video avi and Xvid avi. Which format would be playing in my Sony DVD. The help from their side is not enough and evasive.
                   Would anybody give correct choice. I am using aiesoft video converter, which has these formats.
                   While plugging out i fail to notice the 3 plug connections. I am finding so many plugs at the back of the DVD, which should i choose, there is a confusion. Pl let me know the correct procedure. I want to see the video in LG tv.

Hi,

                    I have taken two session of videos in Samsung Galaxy Grandneo and copied the same to PC in a folder. On playing in the device, it plays On Playing the same videos in the device, the vertical orientation is maintained. But on playing in the PC it has changed to auto horizontal and everything were playing as if i have taken the video horizontally.
                      I know that i have taken the video vertically, as it would be not possible to capture the full size of a person in horizontal view. But while playing in , it auto rotates itself to the horizontal position in PC
While copying it has not asked me to convert or not. What is the problem? how to get it corrected

              speccy reveals the computer information (piriform).It shows the software details about the monitor.I want hardware details of monitor like the size of the monitor, and the make of it etc.

Hi, This is a usual practice for me to first click the link in google to get the server not found error in mozila and again tryng retry button, i get the link. This is true even for your site. why is this so? A solution was given to change the server address to Google .Can i try this? What is the risk involved in it?

Or is there any other alternative ways. the first click at once produces server not found error. Before that i was getting problem loading errors?

General Computer Support / print screen does not print the actual screen but only letters in word 2007

Hi,
                   It was working perfectly. Whenever i do the print screen and copies to word, it does the exact print screen. Of late this is not happening and it only pastes the words in the screen, and that too to a limited extent. how to overcome this problem.

                    The word is opening as a stretched one and the cursor blinking is not usual but a little bit bigger font.
                   Update:  My desktop is showing as if stretched. I use 1024 768 resolutions. Landscape. Do i have to change something. What is the default values

We usually update java and adobe reader for internet purposes. But i do not know, where this got installed. I usually go to the Flash player and adobe reader page to download. Is this a new programme. Is it safe to use. What is the use of it in web page. Please Shane. As this is a new addition, and periodically alerts for new updates, I am asking this.

Hi   Shane Longtime no see.
                  When i am browsing with all the browsers, I found the vertical or horizontal scrolll bars are not showing up. I am using the half sizing box at the top now to make the view of scroll bar and then seeing the contents. What to be done to rectify this.

                      I have photos taken. but I want these photos to be printed at card size.  How can i accomplish this task.
                      I have tried  resizing the % to smaller size and then saved it . And when i tried to print, it prints  a a4 size of the same.
                        Can i manually change the width and height and can i print it exactly at card size. Pl

Hi,
        When i search for heart bleed, there was some links shown in google and one such site is avastweb forum.
           When i clicked the link, it was shocking to know that the avast web forum has been hacked totally and with the message that they will start a fresh forum. It was reported that all the email link discussion have been totally hacked
               I have tried to go to the avast web site, and it is safe. i wrote to them about the useful links about this  and i am enclosing the same to this site , as they are using the smf platform.
                       In the year 2013. the famous my digital life forum was hacked and it was restored immediately as, it was following vbulletin format. The site was restored in record time and only thing that the concern was to change to the password for future safe.

                      There are plenty of gadgets , a kind of alarm or clock and application from microsoft. It is working on my desktop. Could i copy the same . my nokia supports java jar files. Could i convert this gadget and play in my phone as wall paper. My phone supports gif file.

Hi,   I was having intel chip graphic drivers for xp. Now i changed my os to windows 7 which does not support 3d. Any how i have installed manually the graphic driver for my product from intel.com.
                My question is will aero work for me. With this driver the 3d is enabled and some accelaration is enabled.
                      Can i change to wddm driver, which supports aero. How much it costs in Rupees (India). Should i need to change any thing other than this video card for my sistem if i have to have moving pictures or theme as my desk top ground. Or atleast as screen saver for windows 7

I am given ipv4 version and sometimes whenever i browse to some sites, including yours, i got server not found, but if i click the retry button, it goes to it perfectly. Now as a advice in their bug report, i made networkdisable settings to true instead of default false as per their instructions. It seems that i get the link now in the first attempt itself. what ipv6 got to do with firefox settings, and my browsing settings. Pl

General Computer Support / My computer boots, but after repeated strain of hard drive and monitor windows 7

Hi, This problem i face for the few days. It boots fine, but normally it does with just a press of finger in the start button. But now, it seems that it boots and fails and then boots and fails and then so on. Finally, at about a minutes of this behaviour, i could heard a sound in the monitor, and it boots to normal. Is it any problem or this is a normal case in case of severe drop of temp in winter at my place. Do i need to run chkdsk /f/r and any other advice. Why this behaviour. When i hear hard drive sounding at start up and a kind of pulse sound in monitor,(cluck or sudden sound of life in monitor). Is that denote, there is problem in monitor or hard ware. Hi,
            Shane , I some time go across some of the posts, for which solutions have been given and problems fixed. But If there is a option to mark it as solved, google searcher in general and visitors to this site in particular can see that the thread has completed successively with a accepted/acceptable solution. I found in most of the sites, that this feature is available.
            Suppose, if a person is searching for a computer problem in google, tweaking com also come in the first page of search, if it is with solved, then one can immediately select this link.
            If there already exist, a mechanism, which i am not aware, please let me know how to mark it as solved, if be the thread beginner. The solved may be allowed to be marked by the threader or the admin, you, Mr.shane.

Hi, Shane
                  It is your idea for safe and secure browsing, that the adobe and java has to be updated to present stage and updates should be immediately installed. But when i update the same and look in to the add on it is having a red warning that it is disabled for security reason.
                      Should i leave at that ? Unless java finds the vulnerabilities and offer updates, i think, that .firefox will not allow it to run it.
                                Moreover the password and id of yahoo email are not saved and each time , i have to enter these on every log in . Solutions pl

Please see this link and kindly let me know, why this is needed. If suppose, i install a office set up program to a default directory by the installation cd, there are problems when accessing the same software by different users of the computer. But if we choose, the network installation point, this error could be avoided by installing the program in a specific folder, so that every computer user need not to again the installation of any addon or updates and the same program with updates by single user could be used by all in a workgroup computers, having limited numbers.
                    Is it true and what is called network, is that connect to msoft for any purpose, or is a folder created by us to install. Normally all the programs allow you to have a "browse button" to change the installation path, but programs llike msoffice does not allow you to choose.

                        Please kindly let me know is this possible. In the msi enabled log, i get shellui.mst is not digitally signed. and it shows so many things that i could not understand. can i do this by reinstalling the office for all users of a computer at the same time.
                        Now, if i add on addon to one user, it is not found in other users account. You have to again add the add on there. Please help computer expert shane, sir,

Registry permissions and file permission are mostly exploited by the thrid party to their advantages. By resorting to your tool , it really sets the permission correctly. Does it has to be run for every user separately by logging in to their accounts?

Hi, Shane I tried to fix the msi installer problem with this tool from tweaking.com. I started it and repair has been doen on system and current user account. But , there is no close screen that it has finished. Should i use the stop button to close the program. It is not automatically closing even though the repair was done in seconds. Not only that, if i click stop, it is asking me to stop the current process. Pl . How to close the program and check for the msi installer to check for repair

I have installed after uninstalling the ms office 2007 totally using msoft clean tool and then reinstalled.This i had to do to get some of the add on to work . While everything works fine, the configuring of msi installer of microsoft office is always annoying at the start up. As if it is trying to install something. I have tried all sort of ideas by msoft and other forums. Nothing could stop this behaviour
    As the last sort, i have gone to the windows installer services, in the services. msc and then disabled it to get rid of the problem. now the problem is over.
   Hi, shane, is this advisable. I do not need any updates for ms office or anyother program.
Would this do any harm to the computer, in installing some other products. Can i continuously disable it as i do not find any clue to the problem     
       Event viewer id suggets problem 1001, that some wisp and content not found and so on. Exact reason not known for this behaviour. Pl advise and also tell me how to clean the installer cache of any pending updates, which i would have opted previously. Pl exp reply
