General Computer Support / are those ntuser.ini,ntuser.dat and netuser.dat.log generated or system files

Hi, My user profile it seems corrupted, with not those files present in the user profile folder. Instead, i am having netuser.ini, netuser.dat , but two or more files of netuser.dat.log1 and netuser.dat.log2. I tried to create the new user account and then copy the profile folders excepting these files , but if i just log on with a user account already have, the same files copied .If i delete those files in the hope that it would get recreated, i am afraid that it does not.
If i am having the same set of those files , then i get another corrupted profile.
Is there a way out , how to copy these files.
If available for windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, please send those ,
I can delete but not could create. I suppose, it does not autocreate if it is deleted.
I tried to copy those files by unselecting these files, but if had not logged in to the new user account, then the user account is not shown in c:user folder .
Please give me solution.
What are those log1 2 files , and some regtrans files with ntuser guid numbers

Hi, I enclose a error log, which i could not locate to find whether the service is started or not.
The error message
eventid 7000 service control manager
The ScreenCamera Video Camera service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

In services.msc, i could not find the camera service or to that effect .
How to fix this error. Is it related to some third party applications. If so, how to single out and fix it

Hi, This is to Samson,
               Due to enabling updates, and installing critical update of jan 2018, by mistake by my son, i lost the system and the macrium relect image helped me to restore the system back to atlease a 4 to 5 month back . Eventhough, i tried the latest version of mr, the one recommended by you, which you said somewhere in my thread gives no problem in restoration process. Would you kindly say the version of it, so that i could use for taking the image incase of any system failure.

General Computer Support / Does the adsl splitter passes the full signal thro modem/router?

I read from so much websites, that the telephone line if it passes through directly will give unbearable noise.
Likewise, if it is not directly connected to modem, you give feeble data signal through it.
But when i ask the same to technician, he insist that both line could be passed through the splitter, at respective labels and it is the best thing.
My query is , if you have a modem supplied with splitter, that it passes the full signal through the modem lable, and filtered signal thro the phone line?

General Computer Support / Why downstream speed fluctuates for PPPoe connection?

Hi, PPPoe connection involves the sharing of internet access thro cable to users on a single line basis by the ISP. Here, whenever , i notice a decrease in download, if i check the router status, it shows, the same speed totally different from the promised speed of the plan, that you buy from ISP.
My query is , why it is flucturating?
does the server at the ISP is over loaded at times of a day?
Or The ISP having limited bandwidth and connections are becoming more .
I have to get 10 mbps download speed. I called the lilne man. He checked the wire and just connected them securely and asked me to check the speed. It was nearlyl 10 mpbs. After he went, the speed comes down to 7, 6 and at times 5 also.
What is the cause for this ?
Is there any real fix.

Hi, Admin, moderators and experts, long time no see.
My system collapsed after i downloaded some latest updates. The first symptom is deaddd slow computer browsing and then ultimate death of pc. It was update regarding meltdown virus, and it just collapsed intel mobos pc, as bolt from Blue, i mean BSOD.
Ok coming to this problem.
This is error No.1014 dns client. On every logon and logoff, the internet light on the modem would turn red, followed by dsl line blinking and then reestablishing the connection.I have tried all sorts of tricks, but could not overcome this error, which for the past few days is annoying. I checked the dsl connection and everything is good.But on every log on and log off, i am seeing the foregoing symptoms of internet loss and gain.
I am enclosing the error logs, so that experts may give the solutions.
The error name resolution for xxx.com timed out, messages .
Please see the last line of the log and ignore others.
Those are the errors, when i tried to solve the error and subsequently corrected thro System Restore

General Computer Support / how to know the compatibility of processor to the mother board?

hi, I changed the motherboard and processor. Some zeebros mother board and a processor. I had problem, initially, when the screen suddenly goes. I went to bios and disabled the fast boot, so i could look in to the process step by step. Yes, there was a message, that the processor attached to the mother board is not supported. I do not get exact processor since a technician fixed both mb and processor. Now, he changed the processor available with him . Now , booting shows the same message. But it getsto bios screen, when actually it shows the not supported processor to the mother board.
                          In one such replacement of the prcoessor available with him, the computer boots normally without any problem and so he fixed. It also shows the same not supported processor alert.
                              Now anyhow, it works . But can i check the compatibility of my fixed processor with mother board.
                             I heard that Boggins suggested a site, where ram could be tested for compatibility. Likewise, is there any simple check site, which does it to say, that i could use this processor . Motherboard is having no problem but it is a chip set.
                             I wish to state that higher versions say 4.0 version, if fixed, does not give any grahics and hence said not supported my system. Expecting reply

Hi, Since the scan by avast shown me dns hijack, i have changed the dns to google dns in the router. But scanning thro a software , the actual dns servers at the time of browsing of a session , point out the existence of an unknown foreign server, which is trying to access the router at some point of times and not always. Moreover, the same website's advt pop up shows whenever i try to view other websites. There the popup would show up.
                   So, i changed back to my ISP's dhcp server to be on the safer side. But now avast shows dns hijack of domain sites.
                    I wrote to avast to confirm that dns hijack is false positive and expecting reply from them.
Even full scan at online dns scan site, proved the presence of unknown server.
                     how to confirm that it is false positive? Nslookup to those domains show the same ip, but peculiarly my service Provider Ip. What to make of it ? pl experts

Hi, There is no problem in modem connection and internet access. But the upload speed tested in speedtest.net.in , i found the upload stream speed is dismal at 40 kbps. Does any settings in modem would improve this? Or it is service provider choice for all users of the broadband. The download speed is quite ok.
I do not want to invest on vdsl. Is there any fix and please cause for this slow upload speed. pl

I presume that sfc scannow helps in fixing the system files when the files were loaded , and it checks to see the files that were present in the installation dvd  and correct any missing files from the required folders from the system itself.
 Windows readiness tool is on the other hand fixes the windows updates from the time of installation to the date of running the tool.
If there is any corruption in the system files, then you get errors or otherwise no error  for all the files, when those files were installed in sfc scan (like using i386 folders in xp)
If there are no pending windows update, then you get no error in check sur log, otherwise, you get some errors and by installing those updates, you get no error.
Are my assumptions correct? please.
are any changes made in files like explorer.exe and other exes in window updates?

General Computer Support / sfc fix exe could not fix some missing dll . pl

Hi,
                    After scanning with sfc /scannow, i used sfcfix.exe to fix the errors. It asked me to keep ready with the install dvd, which i provided in the cd drive. After some time , it exited with 2 errors not automatically fixed.
                     I know that the sub-forum regarding this has been stopped. But , if possible , kindly send me the two dll files mentioned in the winsxs folder. I tried to copy the same dll, but even after that , the same error is reported.
                       i heard that winsxs folder contains the other versions of the same dlls in the system 32 folder to fix compatibility issues , while we try to run applications and the same set of dlls for the different versions have been stored in the winsxs folder. If possible , send the dlls for windows ultimate 7 32 bit of the two files i enclose herewith. Ofcourse, it is something tough to locate the exact folder and find the dll

General Computer Support / Wsuoffline installer hangs and start and hangs at reboot

Since, i was having problem with explorer, i could not see the screen at all. As a result , i had to clean install c: after so much fixes did not fix it. Ok, i did and tried wsuoffline install, it installed security pack 1 and some updates and then started to hang. I waited for more time but it does not move from there. After seeing the size just 30 mb, it should not have taken more than few minutes. But it was hanging there . So, i had no other option but to close the installer.
                 When i tried the second time, i thought , that it would start from where it left, but after a few checks, it started hanging after waiting for list of ids that could not be updated... and it stayed there.
                  Can i uninstall all updates other than security pack, which is already installed and try again?
                    Moreover, it is funny, that when i try elevated command prompt, it did not direct to c:windows\system32, instead, c:windows\woutempadmin. pl say the fixes.
                           When i did the same , last time,no problem arose

Hi, My internet light occasionally becomes red if i log on to pc , after getting wifi access thro smart phone. When i am using the log on to internet access with wifi , thro the wifi modem and then power on the pc, i get my internet light red. If i use flushdns command of ipconfig then it is becoming green.
                    I know that i could access the wifi in mobile only thro the modem. If i log on to pc, after that, occasionally the internet light becomes red.
                   Wifi access is entirely different and bb access is entirely different. Is it correct? Why this is so? what is the fix

Hi, On the other day, my son in his enthusiasm to gestures, has hard touched the harddisc cabin. After that, reboot system error occurs one or two time and he tried to bang keyboards in his effort to boot up. But totally failed . I just guessed that the connection would have gone wrong and just plug out and plug in the power and data cable connecting the hard disc. Luckily, i got the system to boot up.
                          Frequent power cuts and inadvertant mitake of hitting the cabin thus gave me an idea to look for alternative to t, ake a back up of os and all files, that i have in the pc and laptop.
                           I bought a ext.hdd disk and installed the macrium reflect. What is the diff between cloning and imaging. which is best . What i require is a full back up of os including alll the apps and program and all the files and data to image form and then when hdd is corrupted to restore.
which is best form cloning or imaging. I do not want incremental update of image or any other thing. i want a back up of all os and data on the backup  time and keep it in a separate place to restore back in case of eventuality of hdd fail or corruption.
                              please give the exact link if any available. I am confused with those concept of cloning and imaging. which is best pl

Hi, Everything was fine. I also know that yahoo only allowed already imap/pop configured accounts to imap those to other mail such as gmail. I am having a yahoo ac, which when imapped, with gmail, getting all the mails transfered to gmail and i could look at gmail to open and then send the reply etc. This was working fine. But now, the test message i sent from my own gmail to yahoo , has not been received back by gmail, which was the case before. I could send a test msg thro my gmail, which would be received  by yahoo mail and then as it is imapped to gmail would return the same . This particular aspect is not working. If i go to yahoo mail and then send a mail to gmail, it is being received. pl give solution

Hi, Now only i know that the speed of broadband and wifi are totally different. I thought that the speed of any net acess is controlled by the ISP of the plan rate of the usesrs. But on seeing some articles, i now know that both are different. If BB is speed is controlled by ISP, any device connected it also shares the speed. This was my thinking. But now i know that both are differnet. Who controls the speed of the wifi, is it the vendor of the wifi modem, Dlink ? or any other thing.
Neighbourhood routers may be of differrent brands . I want to know the details about

Hi, The question is for my son's laptop. Whenever i am having problems with some hanging, if i go to the task manager to kill the application exe in the tab, there is no application tab, and process tab is present and it shows all the process. It was easy to just kill the application exe , rather than the processes, which may be difficult to find. is there any fix, to restore the default task bar menu in windows xp sp3. i had all updates so far

But when i try to restore, to a previous point, via SR, it fails with error, not restored to the previous date. i could see the restore points, and if i select another point also the failure . Hi, Scan with avast wifi inspector. If i use router dns, ie , obtain dns server address automatically, i get vulnerability of dns hijack  in the router , by the scan. They give solution to change the dns in change adopter settings. I changed the dns to google and next to open dns . when i scanned the same pc again, the results show no vulnerability. How, what does that mean? The avast wifi scans the computer and connected device. My pc and other devices are shown as having no vulnerabilites.
Can you say, how , the scan results differ? Moreover, i was shown, hijacked domain as vk.com and yandex.ru, which i never visited in my life time. would expert say something on this

Hi, I do not want normal copy function, but robo copy which maintains the date of folders created in the original date of folder created.
                      I want to copy the contents of the memory card to the pc to be freshly copied to a new mem.card. For this i want to know, or use the full path to execute robo copy command.
                        I tried with the path it shows  on the computer address bar, or folder bar. Nothing works.
Any body knows the trick to know the full path of the contents of memory card in a smart phone. The mem.card is showing my phone name as folder and contents of device storage and memory card storage folders inside

Hi, This is automatic feature in nokia older phones. Whereever you go, it will show the address of the cell tower connected to your phone with the service provider. I now bought j2 pro samsung galaxy. i have cell broadcast on in the settings, but it gives a message of the address , as one sms on reboot . It does not show, it in home screen as i used to get.
                          Is there a widget that could do that. Normally, apps from play google shows the id, and all the other particulars but not the address , which is the tower information. Location tab gives you, the place where you are and not the cell tower address.
                                 Luckily i have cell broadcast settings in my message settings menu. Why only sms , instead of showing it always. Is there any restrictions.
                                 Will i get the other tower signals when i move on as another sms . If there is a widget, pl let me know

Hi, I am having avast free, which is having quite no of checks including av, mail etc. I enabled all the settings in my avast settings to scan and certify the emails  as containing no virus with their symbol. Even after enabling those, i could not see anything in the messages i sent or received.
                     On contacting them, they say it would work only on mail client and not on webmail such as yahoo or gmail.Then i knew the difference and i do not want to use outlook as it swallows all the mails stored in mail.
                       I would ask whether thunderbird is an alternative client, which i can use to send and receive the gmail. I had not tried it so far, as i thought that it is also  like gmail.
                       I also heard that you could view the contents of email offline in thunderbird.
                       Would you please advise me, whether i could download thunderbird and how to have the gmails not swallowed, but could be managed with thunderbird, so that i could eable avast email scan settings to enable to scan for virus and certify.
                        I used outlook and now i never use it . Please say about thunderbird and mail storage without loosing my mails in webmail gmail or yahoo.
