I am mostly interested to know why some program can fix them and not the camera companies themselves to provide such a fix, it horrible for people to pay for ... especially when I know for sure, something changed the file ext. THERE IS NO WAY POSSIBLE it did not ..

praying on loved ones memories is worse than wal street praying on farmers...

703
J, you are lucky it works with another user, wait and lets see what key it is, it will be useful to know anyway so shane can create a fix it for that too.

704
first off, you mention that it put some nonsense in the start menu?

The name of that file?

Where does it reside in your system?
Looked at the registry key to confirm it does or does not link to any other areas?

searched hidden files for the name of the file in the start menu?

Shane, you know, there are so many programs that delete restore points, I think, your program should inlcude a feature too save a restore point offline on a external media or even a recorded CD... then, no maleware can muff up that!

Link isnt working for me bud.

Shane
Well, least we know it isnt only being blocked. I spent some time this weekend to review the JPG disaster. Some programs did do some fixes but it seems overall, any program that changes any MSFT ext is a virus or malware... the one program that did fix some issues did not express the size or quality, piti... I will not mention them as there is a fee.

will continue this matter later

Shane; can you grab the info on this site and post it here, it is blocked here: THANK YOU

that error relates to
67 cstrJERR_UNKNOWN_MARKER 'Unsupported marker type 0x%02x'
please see the error on the follwoing link

http://homepages.borland.com/efg2lab/Li ... Errors.txt

710
I found that autoexterminator is useful too;

has that had any impact.

did you identfiy what rootkit virus you had?

711
Is this happening to all the jpg or just a few. Did the jpg come from the bad drive you had?

Shane

Anything that changes any file header is a virus or malware;
this program that is selling there service is selling a program that is already patent related...

The Camara Companies refuse to help their customers!

712
It repairs part of the files related to WMI errors many people receive, I already ran the script which fixed my problem that even existed after a clean install

In the script, it points to what it repairs. I deleted it already so I can not say exactly which area it is...

In the script, is says something related to the error message that it repairs...

713
strComputer = "."

714
I did run the Script, it seemd to fix the related WMI error, you might want to keep it around I posted the script in another thread, please delete the thread after you copy the info.

that seems to have fixed the WMI errors that were happening before my crash too...

715
Shane, it is not longer available in 7

can you help us

thanks

We should have mentioned "OldTimers tempfilecleaner"

it makes a big difference too, removing all the old files no longer used

someone can post the download link, it is a free prgram worth having

718
It is a problem that has been ongoing for years, the camera companies and sandisk refuse to find a fix...

We need to try to find out how the damage was done, because something may continue to damage our pictures right now ...

I firmly believe they have been corrupted by MALWARE or ransomware... it is like saying, if you copy your DOC or PDF files, half the file will be lost too, so it is definetly MALWARE RELATED!

Example:

I am putting together some resources that will be required as a fix tool...

Shane, seems he/she is using a free copy tool for video...

I would ask, what program are you using?

yes, run chkdsk is the first issue too :)

then, is the program free trial? if so, can not help them anymore!
 if not, then it is probably related to malware or tied to ransomware programs...

Only solution, unistall and delete all the registry keys which we wont find out unless someone posted how to delete all the registry keys for that program somewhere which we have not been told... then download and use VLC media player!

720
I downloaded this program, this program fixed the problem on the first pass upon previewing the photo;
on the second attempt after restarting the program to preview the image to do the same file, it did not fix it!!!!

I can nto tell if it only fixed the photo or the image! Either way, I find that this problem only existed recently over the yaers and that jpeg or image corruption has found its way into malware... The photo companies would do well to make it free! if this program can fix the images, the nwe too can make a simple program to do and probably do it online to draw people to your websiteAfter all, Tweaks is a DIY site right?

http://www.stellarinfo.com/file-repair/buy-jpeg-repair.php

I REFUSE TO PAY TO FIX IMAGES THAT I TOOK WITH MY CAMERA!

Lets Wake up and fix the problem already!

getting started here:

http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/27290822

Below is another progrm that converts images, someone said to try to convert the images... as you can see, it only displays the thumbnail in the image, but reverts back to the bad image when converted regardless of the format...

721
Have you tried running "hijack this" and autoruns?

see what it finds? be sure run in adminstrator mode

722
J, I am a little busy to try and give some advice about your problem now. I remember one time having a similar issue, I had to do a manual custom install and then add the help files.

Please check the first ten topics doing a google search;

how to disable help in 2007

I think they will be very helpful too you

Hi,

Regardless whether you have a CD or not, the code should be on the bottom of the laptop for whatever version you are using.

sometimes getting the code from the registry is different than the install codes.

Undersatand the difference before doing a clean install

also, buy a new hard disk before a clean install!

General Computer Support / Re: C++ Runtime Library Error R6002 Fix
« on: June 13, 2013, 12:03:16 pm »
you have the game software?

http://saintsrowpowertools.com/oldbeta/beta.html

Does it say what version of C++ need to use?

try re-install the software first "?"

Look on the CD and the subdirectories to see if there is a directory called C ++ "something and see if it has an install feature", or is there a install console from the CD for C ++?
is there a C ++ update from the software providor or download from there website? "should be"

Here is some updates can try
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679

Good Luck
this will be my last post here in this link
