General Computer Support / System Restore or Registry Backup Restore?

I am never sure about how to handle these two. I really don't know which is the best and what is their difference. When should I do one or the other and what happens if I do one or the other. This has always been a conflict with me and, of course I am NEVER sure which is the best.
Could someone please explain what exactly these two different programs do and what exactly happens one you do one or the other?

I cannot understand after all of these years, why the Restore Point does not work on Windows Repair. There may be a thread somewhere on your site, but I cannot find it. It would be soooo nice it it did.

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Use of tweaking.com repair and switching to Safe Mode

I am running the latest 1809 Build on Windows 10 and have discovered that when opening tweaking.com repairs and hitting the Safe Mode button, my PC will restart and enter into Safe Mode no problem. But when it comes time to open my start screen, I have no way to enter neither a PIN nor PASSWORD. The screen comes up blank with no options to do anything.

Any suggestions or thoughts on this matter?

It's tough, I know, but you've got to be real careful with the repairs from this program using it on Insider Preview. It's like trying to walk on eggs and not breaking them in the process. Dangerous as hell. I only use it for tweaking very little. Sfc scan, checking variables, etc.
I tried running a few fixes and created a disaster. Messed up my updates when trying to repair.
I have decided to park it for a while until on a solid build.

General Computer Support / Tweaking.com Update Repairs

I have been using the Update repairs on this program for years with Windows 7 and it has always worked great. Always fixes it when it runs into problems.
The other day, I used it on my Windows 10. Instead of using the troubleshooter, since it seemed to me it wasn't fixing the problem, I ran it (Safe Mode) and restarted.
I went to check on updates afterward and came up with an error (Sorry, I didn't get the error code) . I then proceeded to run the Windows troubleshooter and came up with errors also and didn't fix what tweaking.com update tried to fix.
To make a long story short, I ended up reverting back with System Restore. I was just wondering if anyone out there has run into problems with the update repair on their Windows 10.

General Computer Support / Repair running havoc on my PC

Maybe it´s my PC, maybe it´s the program: Every time I run tweaking.com repairs, it messes up my registry. I ALWAYS have to restore from the previous. Tweaking repairs does me no good. It´s a pity after all these years that this could be happening. That´s what makes me think that it could probably be something with my PC.
This is the third time I have written and have had no response. I was told once that Shane would be emailed about the problem, but never heard from that.
Remember: I run the program as usual. Safe Mode, Admin. rights. etc. with default checked off and restart. When started, my Action Center pops up with red flag and I cannot open it. I have tried even using the Services option and it will not start.
I always thought that this issue was something with Malwarebytes 3.0 because it all started AFTER I installed it (about 3 weeks ago).
I uninstalled it to check and see if this made a difference, but no.

Still awaiting..............

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Running repairs and Malwarebytes 3.0

I installed the new Malwarbytes 3.0 about a week ago. It seems to be working just fine on my PC and using it as my only AV. Had to uninstall MSE due to the fact that it was buggy and messed up my starting and stopping process. MB knows about it and they are on it.
My problem is that I ran the complete repair (default) of tweaking.com and restarted. The first thing I noticed was that Malwarebytes errored on startup and could not open the security center either. Red flag came up and I could not open.
I rolled back to my old registry (that heartbeat thing) and everything went back to normal.
Now I´m affraid to run tweaking.com. Any suggestions or help?

General Computer Support / Sfc not working

Hello to all,

Been using tweaking.com for over a year now and it´s been keeping my Windows 7 in tip-top shape ever since.

A few months back, for some reason, I lost my scan/sfc. It starts off real good until it gets to 26% and sits there for about 2 minutes...the tells me it cannot finish. Some kind of error but it doesn´t specify. Has this ever happened to anyone? I cannot finish to see my CBS.log

But I did find this:

General Computer Support / SETACL3 Stopped funcioning

Hello all,

Whilst running tweaking.com Windows Repair (Safe Mode with Network), I got this message:

SETACL3 stopped funcioning.......and this popped up about 7 or 8 times will the program was running.

Could anyone tell me what this is and what it means and further more, what do I have to do to fix this.

I believe it has something to do with Windows NT and it may be a bug or virus or something.
