I don't know how you were able to find the DKIM as that isn't visible to the receiver of the email but for some time now, all of my WR notifications have gone into the Spam folder.

I'll email jpm for him to bring the majorgeeks download up to date and ask him if WR no longer supports Vista and XP, although I doubt if there's many that are still using those versions.

No one has posted for help in those versions.

I know Shane didn't support Vista 64 bit because of its rarity of use.

There was no need to duplicate your thread to reply.

Please keep your replies in the original thread and let me know how you get on

Once you have replied in the original thread I will remove this one.

Can you post a pic of the list of tasks from the Task Manager and unwanted devices from Device Manager.

159
Have you tried manually removing the tasks from Task Manager and the unwanted devices from Device Manager - reboot and see if they return.

160
Can you open Windows/File Explorer and click on This PC - insert the install USB and double click on its drive.

This will open to its files where you then double click on setup Application.

This should perform a repair install.

Let me know if this proceeds - it can take a couple of hours or so.

161
Can you download this free antivirus program and run a scan with it - https://www.totalav.com/en/free-antivirus

Then open a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) and enter these cmds -

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

and let me know what they report.

162
I don't know where you got your Win 10 install media from but you can create a new one after reading -

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

If you've been able to install Windows Repair then you must have some sort of Win 10 installed.

Boot up with the new install media, navigate to the Install screen and select Repair your computer then select Command Prompt and enter these cmds to see if they resolve.

bcdedit |find "osdevice"

For clarity that is a Pipe symbol before find and is the upper case of \

Using your partition letter instead of the X I have exampled, enter -

dism /image:X: /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=X:\ /offwindir=X:\Windows

Enter exit to close the cmd windows, remove the install media and reboot to see if that has resolved any issues you have.

If you want to try a clean install with the new media then you may want to format your HDD first.

Haven't had a reply back yet but I guess he'll need time to look at it if he's working.

Happy New Year to you as well, Johan.

I'll email Shane with a reminder to have a look at it.

The Tech licence has already been discounted by 50% so there's no coupons to use.

You would just follow the prompts when paying for it and the Tech licence will do what you want it to do.

Run the sfc /scannow cmd again as you've run the dism /restorehealth cmd.

This time it should report that it has been able to repair all corruption.

In Safe Mode the Command Prompt is in elevated mode but to be sure, go Start -type cmd and riight click on it and select Run as administrator.

Which version of Windows are you using ?

Try updating the program to the latest version 4.12.1 and run it again.

Let me know how you get on.

To resolve the problem with the machine, use your restore points in Safe Mode prior to the update.

In Safe Mode go Start - type rstrui.exe and press enter to access the restore pionts.

Thanks and noted.

I'm sure it will be of help to those who get that error.

However, I always run a sfc /scannow after that dism cmd as sometimes it reports it has found and repaired all corruption.

It may be worth saving this article for black screen problems -

https://recoverit.wondershare.com/computer-problems/windows-10-black-screen-of-death.html

I needed Hiren's once to get me back in and I didn't need anything else on the disk.

Win 10 has the option of starting and stopping the computer three times in succession which will get you into diagnostic mode to repair/replace the display drivers.

I've just ran WR on my Win 11 and I get exactly the same screen.

I seem to remember that on my Win 10 also.

Shane disabled the App Store repairs because of MS kept changing the Permissions so those are nothing to worry about.

Nothing back from Shane yet.

It may need an update.

I now have Win 11 but will need to create  system image before I run WR on it.

I'll get back to you on that.

175
I've booted up with a Win 10 install USB and successfully executed that dism cmd.

Do you get any error messages on that ?

What did the Start-up Repair report.
