I'd forgotten about the Crucial Scanner - memory not the best these days.

I ran it on my newish HP laptop and I got the same message as you in that it couldn't find my system.

Hi,
I forgot the website name in england that tests your mem stick capacity with your mother board compatibility. It gives the present ram and how much you could add with the motherboard you have.
I think that this website was recommended by Boggins in my posts queries.
I could not locate the post to know the website.
Any body or Boggin would give me the link of the website.

- Or run "unlodctr.exe" first and then "lodcrt.exe"
- "lodctr" has a relationship with WMI.

- I have had some problem with the "perfromance counters". I did some GOOGLEing and found the following article that describes how to fix those performance counters (better). WR already has a repair called "Repair Performance Counters" but this repair can be improved.

Turns out that "lodctr.exe" is present in both "system32" and "syswow64" (on my Win 7 system).

Perhaps in order to repair the performance counters WR also needs to run "unlodctr"  ???

Can you boot up with your install disk, select Repair your computer and navigate to the Command Prompt and enter these cmds -

bcdedit |find "osdevice" then using your partition letter instead of the X I have exampled, enter this cmd -

For clarity that is a Pipe symbol before find and is the upper case of \

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=X:\ /offwindir=X:\Windows

When complete, remove the install disk and reboot.

Go Start - type cmd - right click on cmd and select Run as administrator and enter sfc /scannow

That should hopefully report no integrity violations but let me know if it reports anything different.

You may need to perform another repair install if things still don't work.
