Avast Start up item
« on: December 07, 2013, 02:52:47 pm »
Hi Guys,

Have you seen this in msconfig for avast(now avast has two start up items). Looks like it's part of the new avast, but no one seems to know exactly what it does. Any ideas as to what it does.

I have seen that on a few of my customers computers as well right before I uninstalled avast and put MS on instead :-)

The amount of false positives and constant pop ups asking to upgrade and installing toolbars and such made me dump avast.

Yes, and it is what I put on my customers machines.

Yeah, been using avast for a good year or so, finally got fed up with them.

EVERY single free antivirus except MS still wants and needs to make money. So while they are free there is always a string attached. Remember that.
