I thought type C was the on used on all the Android phones? It sure looks like the cord that goes into my Samsung lol

Type B is what your Samsung. Type C is smaller then type A and bigger then type B. What I like about it  is that it works like the apple like the one I have for my phone. You can plug it in anyway. That way people will not force it in if plugged in the wrong way and brake it.

Will be good as long as Apple doesn't have a patent on it like they do their old one lol

If it is one thing everyone can agree on about Apple, is Apple doesnt share.
