CD/DVD Rom not working

CD/DVD Rom not working Hello I am having a real problem with my DVD Rom not reading discs I insert a disc and it seems to click and start reading but to no avail spits disc back out and asks me to insert disc I have tried every possible avenue to get this problem rectified and no luck has anyone here ever had this issue and how did you get it fixed?Any help with topic would be greatly appreciated!!

It is possible the drive is bad. To test if that is the problem are you able to get it to read any disks at all?

Another way to test if the drive is good or not would be to download Ubuntu Linux, use their USB tool to take the ISO and make a usb thumb drive bootable with it. Boot off the thumb drive into linux and see if the dvd drive works there. If it fails in there as well then you know it is a bad drive. If it works fine in there then we know it is something in Windows :wink:
