Registry Backup v1.9.0 error messages
« on: June 03, 2014, 01:51:54 am »
Today I have received 2 new error messages from Registry Backup v1.9.0 program where I noticed that the first error message  is that your program fails to do a full backup with a message "Failed" while trying to do a  full backup!, I missed this error but got another error! The second error message was received when the system just to start! (Perhaps this is due to run a scan with NPE scanner) This scanner pops up Along with your program next system restart and is probably the cause !

Check the log file in the backup folder and see what part it got to or if it says it failed to backup any of the reg files.

Post the whole file, if vss failed then the program would have used the fall back method and down in the log you will see if there was any errors backing up the files.

Good :-)

It must have given the error since vss failed. Is vss is having problems on your system just have the program always use the fall back method instead :-)

Yes it is fine.

If you have the program set to always use the fall back method it will skip using vss, which is a lot faster than waiting for vss.

The VSS Service can be a REAL "pain in the *ss". And sometimes even Windows Repair can't/won't fix VSS. A tool that ALWAYS works is a VSS fix tool from Macrium:
http://kb.macrium.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50010.aspx

Then you can untick "Always use fallback method" in RB  v1.90, as well.

Yes, but in the next version of WR that wont be a problem any more since I found out that the order the repair is done makes a difference and so now WR fixes vss better :-)
