Any reason you can think of that I should have a zoom effect over the thumbnail when you mouse over it?

Reason why I ask is to test I used the largest size I could and I could see where the text was but not very well. If I had a mouse over effect where it zoomed in and show what it is over (Only on the thumbnail) might be helpful. But I am not sure it is needed. Thoughts?

Shane, my monitor shows the thumbnail 5.17" x 3.75" and even though the text, depending on font sizes used,  is not sharply defined it is adequate for showing the layout positions. Would a zoom function just magnify what is seen and not improve thumbnail font definition?

Correct, it would simply pop open a small box that will show the zoomed in are when you mouse over it, thumbnail stays the same, For my test I chose the first custom one which was huge!

The goal of the thumbnail isnt to be able to read it, but instead when a user has a large envelope chosen and they have to scroll and they are trying to set the offset positions that they can use the thumbnail to be able to see how things are lining up.

Otherwise if the envelope fits on the screen and the user doesnt have to scroll then the thumbnail is of no use since they can see the whole envelope already. I was just thinking for those times when the envelope is so big they may like a zoom, but at the same time how often do users print huge envelopes? lol

Shane, I use A4 to make a label for any parcel that would need that size. The largest envelope I use is 9" x 11.75" so would print a label using an appropriate envelope size. Of course any envelope that does fit the printer will be printed on direct.  Prior to you publishing your program I was Googling to find an envelope printer and none of them paid or free did lived upto even your original version.

OK so for now I will skip the zoom idea unless someone requests it.

Glad you like my program, I originally made it for myself because I hate hand writing, I am so use to typing that handwriting is painful (Not in the old man sense, im only 35) but in the I never use these muscles sort of way lol

So I made the program for myself to print out the envelopes for my monthly bills and thought might as well make it another free program for the site. So about 50,000 downloads later and a dozen updates and you see what it has become.

The trick is being a little OCD about things and caring about your work. Thats why I dont mind doing the updates, if I am able. When I know people are using my work it is a great feeling, and with that means you want to do your best.

kindly consider this margin for all four sides in preview option :
top
left
right
bottom
also consider adding custom paper size and also printer setting so that printer can adjusted before printing

Meetehsc, those facilities have already been incorporated. Inform Shane if your font problem has been rectified with the v1.7.0 of Envelope Printer.

Hello Shane, just a bit more........... In the Position Offset Help for the destination address the word Feild to be changed.
Would it be possible to place the location dot for Extra Text to the front to make it easier for horizontal placement. The red dot in it's current position tends to be masked slightly if red text is used. Thanks.

Meeteshc, like as1953, all that is already in the program, and you never answered my question if the fonts are now working for you. Please let me know if they are now working.

as1953, good call on the red dot, since most of the extra text would sometimes be in Red. I will change the color of it and come up with another color or something that still stands out but is less likly a color to be used on the text, perhaps green or something :-)

Had a late start today so havent put out the new version yet, I will first thing in the morning though.

I was chuffed to bits to see your program did a B4 envelope as MS Works' choices are a bit non descript - just to find the envelope was too big for my printer  :cheesy:

lol, the program will list all the supported sizes the printer will do and then it allows for custom sizes. In order to use the custom sizes the printer driver has to allow it, and that is normally when you use a post script driver.

Shane,
Please kick me in the arse. I should have said earlier in EXTRA TEXT/ history and presets there should be a way to delete an item in history. It would not be necessary for preset. Something like a right click or highlite and delete.
I saw the .dat files and attempted an edit but maybe you would not wish for someone to do that. Also, you thought ahead in having extra text auto sorted alpha.  Then again you can just add it to the help file.

Tell your mother she raised a smart kid.

Thanks,

Ed

Yes, you can simply edit the dat file with note pad and then save it :-), Do it with the program closed because the program will resave the list otherwise. I will see if I can fit a delete button in next to it in the program :-)

Hello Shane, thanks for the Extra Text location colour dot change and delete function. All OK.
