Windows Update not repaired
« on: November 16, 2014, 12:02:44 am »
I recently upgraded my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Professional.  Since that upgrade I have been unable to run Windows Update.  I was receiving error message 80248014.  After running the All-in-One Repair Tool I still cannot run Windows Update but now receive error message 80080005.  What can I do to restore the Windows Update function?

You didnt tell me if you are on 32 or 64 bit windows, but you need to try the system readiness tool first :-)

Here is the 64bit version
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20858

Here is the 32bit version
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3132

After doing an upgrade this tool will normally get you fixed up as it will download and install any missing updates that are needed for Windows update to work properly.
