Backup of restore Points
« on: December 13, 2014, 02:08:15 PM »
I know this can be done providing the permissions allow so It would be cool say if I had a point I really really likes on my machine that I could backup to some place and restore later.   It would of course have to include sub-points which came before it as they build on one another but if they could be all zipped and stored until you felt the need to get back there that would cool.

I say this because I have had all my restore points blown away by some software install or uninstall or an update etc... and was unaware they were even gone..

I have looked into that before and MS is hush hush on the working of system restore for some reason. The way they do it and such it is very easy to break, and moving restore points to or from there will pretty much break them. Not sure if MS does this on purpose so a virus cant infect a restore point or if it is just bad programming lol
