Ok so looks like the two files are AudioEndpointBuilder.dll and the other is Audiosrv.dll.

Do you have 8 or 8.1 installed?

Well looks like I forgot I deleted Windows 8 in vmware because I was doing some upgrades. So I removed Windows 8 off my own computer in Dec and put Windows 7 back on. After a year of using 8 I couldnt stand it any more lol

So I am installing 8.1 fresh in vmware now as we speak, I will then get all updates done and then get a copy of those two files for you. Just to make sure you have all current updates instalkled correct? If so then the files I get should be the proper versions that you will need.

Almost there lol.

I honestly have only had maybe 2 customers bring me Windows 8 machines to reinstall in the last year. Every new machine I get from customers that have Windows 8 on it they ask me to remove it and put 7 on for them.

So I havent done a fresh install of 8 for a while. Now I have a Windows 8.1 disk, which means I dont have to do the 8.0 to 8.1 update which is huge and has problems. So even when starting with 8.1 direct, the Windows updates first run was over 900 MB in size (And took 2.5 hours to install) and now the 2nd run at Windows updates is over 1 GB in size!!

So far over 2 GB in updates for a fresh install of 8.1 (This would be even bigger if I started with 8.0)

No wonder so many people hate the idea of reinstalling 8 lol

Soon as the 2nd run at the updates is done I will run a 3rd check on Windows updates, you keep doing the updates till it comes back that there isnt any. Wonder how big the 3rd run will turn out. But once it is all done I will have the two files for you.

Just finished the 2nd bath of updates. So now running the 3rd and guess what!?

61 updates at 1.4 GB in size. After the 70+ updates I have already done at 2 GB+.

So for 3 runs we have a grand total of 3.4GB+ just for windows updates alone after a fresh install of 8.1 direct. (The entire 8.1 disk is 3.63GB)

My god Microsoft, what the crap have you done????

Ok so that took 8 hours lol

I went ahead and grabbed the audio files from system32 and syswow64 folders. So you have the files you need now. let me know how it goes.

You need to take ownership of the two files. You can do that manually by right clicking on one file at a time and going to properties and then security. Or I can give you a reg file that will add the take ownership command to the right click menu if you like. Then you can just right click on the two files and take owner ship with 1 click.

so here is how it goes...
I knew that you wont be available on weekend so I decided to do it my own
I download a reg file to take ownership from the internet and it worked pretty good but when I went to replace the files you gave .... the same  window pops warning me of my not having access to the spicific folder so I thought that I may have to take ownership of the system32 folder in my C:
however, on the site I downloaded the reg file it was warning me not to take ownership of any folder located at C:
What happens now?  :blank: :blank:

Here you go, here is the one I use. Not sure if it is the same as the one you grabbed. But you dont right click on the system32 folder, instead you right click on the files themselves in that folder and take ownership

Do you have avg uninstalled by any chance? I am also googling to see if I can find anything else, so far tons of people have this problem with avg and I did find one about them needing to import the registry keys for the netprofm service, but I couldnt find any info on it.

I will keep looking and any service I can find that might need repaired I will add to the next version of the Windows repair and have you try it. The reason why I will add it there is because you have to have certain permissions to add them back and the program takes care of it for you :-)

OK I took screen shots of that service, can you post screen shots of the service on your system so I can compare it to what I posted and see if anything is different?

At first I noticed everything looked the same, but then I noticed that you have a security folder under yours where on my 8.1 system there isnt one. Can you post a screen shot of what is in there?

Ok, export the security key and then remove it. Its not on my fresh install with all updates, so we will remove you. You may have to taken owner ship of the registry key if it doesnt allow you to delete it. After you remove it make sure to reboot.

Ok so I deleted the key and rebooted
Still the same error
the only difference is that now the bar showing the loading progress goes to full and then the error appears.
before doing that changes the error used to appear at the very beggining before even it starts loading

You could do the Refresh again but open a Command Prompt (Admin) and enter dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth followed by sfc /scannow and see what they report.

God I hate Windows 8 lol

In my Windows repair, have it do repair #28 (Repair Windows 8 App Store) and then reboot.
