You are ok, those showing up is a bug because I enabled the backup privilege for the program, which allows it to read blocked folders and so my program thinks those folders are readable.

I have already worked on v3.4.2 and have it fixed and will be putting out the update today after I get a few tests in with it :-)

Shane,

Thank you so much for responding to my message regarding repair attempts on
my Sony Vaio, operating with Windows 7.

Last night, I ran the Tweaking.com Windows repair programs as you recommended, but the log still indicates problems with my computers' Reparse Points.

This morning, I logged on and received a recommendation to run CHKDSK.  This scan took about 5-hours, with a message that a USN Journal File Record Segment had been repaired.

I re-ran the Tweaking.com scan which continued to show continued problems with some Reparse Points.  I re-ran the repair program.  Log still shows problems.

When I rebooted, there were a message that a couple dozen important Windows updates were available.  Some installed correctly... some did not.

P.S. Prior to posting a message here, I ran HitmanPro and removed a virus, then I ran Commodo and removed some hidden folders.  I also ran CCCleaner to get rid of junk and defragged my hard drive.  I also contacted Adobe because my photo editing software was continually freezing.  One of their techs took remote control of my laptop to remove and reinstall the NVIDIA drivers, plus Adobe's Creative Cloud, Photoshop and Lightroom.  These programs still freeze and a black box will sometimes cover parts of the scene.

Not sure if this is important, but I notice the Number Lock Light often comes on when I start, or reboot my computer.

Thank you again for your help,
Jennifer

Hey Julian,

Chkdsk log attached.

Regarding the Windows update, I tried to manually reload the updates that failed and got a message that my system was up-to-date.  Several hours later, a
warning box popped up saying there were critical updates that hadn't loaded.  I clicked "reboot now" and the missing updates appear to have loaded.
Hmm...

My laptop stills boots slowly, but seems to be running more smoothly.  I haven't had a chance to edit any photos to see if Adobe Lightroom is working without
freezing or getting covered by black boxes.

Julia,

Oh my!  Does this mean I should be shopping for a new computer?

I'm actually able to edit photos with Adobe Lightroom now, so I assume
my laptop is giving me one last "hurrah" before it dies.

Would you please reply and let me know if this is so.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me troubleshoot my
Sony Vaio.  She's been a good friend....

Thank you, Julian.  I need to do some research before I give it a try.

I'm marking this topic solved, even though I have some more work to do.
