windows time service
« on: July 23, 2012, 08:04:59 pm »
Hey Shane

I notice every now and again in event viewer I get a warning stating the the windows time service hasn't re synced in( I think it said 84000 seconds, somewhere in that neighborhood). Does a stand alone system need this to be running? Does it actually sync time for a stand alone system?

It syncs the system time from the MS servers. It is good to have on.

I have noticed that error on a lot of systems lately. Wonder what is going on on their end?

I have found that changing the server from time.windows.com to time.nist.gov has been more reliable, perhaps try using a different time server?

Hope that helps?
