Ran Windows repair, and now my DVD-RW drives are missing
« on: October 16, 2016, 01:39:34 am »
Has this happened to anybody else?  I ran the Windows Repair tool, all the steps, and now my second DVD-RW drive is not showing at all, even on the Device Manager.  (Actually, that's an improvement -- at first neither of them showed, but I uninstalled the driver on the remaining one & rebooted & now I have it.  Both have power -- they slide open & shut when I press the button.  Anything I can do?  As I said, the second drive is not even showing.

Do they show individually with only one connected at a time ?

You could use the program to boot up into Safe Mode and use Option 5 to restore the registry to see if they both show, but it sounds as if they are using the same USB Root Hub - but not sure how.
