updated to v4 v3 pro unlocked repair hung up
« on: August 02, 2017, 06:20:33 pm »
Hello,
any suggestions for v3 pro user that has been updated to the newest v4 (not paid version)  that i think is hung up 17/44 repair 3hrs 30min and it still on repair 17. the system monitor readings are all putting out information but its been sitting on that 17th repair for long time. previous tweaking repairs have not come close to taking this amount of time. its says stopping could do damage but i do have a back up sooooooo.........

thanks for replying. i guess more specifically i was wanting to make sure that stopping the repair is ok to do or it should only be used as a last resort. if i do stop would it be better to hold off until the update is released or take another crack at running the repair again? is it possible that this 17th repair could take upwards of 4 hours? definitely, has not in the past. i added a screen shot.

thanks

i see your problem see kaspersky on the bottom you need to run the program in safemode with networking your antivirus killed the repair from running go ahead and stop the repairs for now and hit the reboot to safe mode re run all the repairs.

ok thanks i will go ahead and do that and see how it goes. i did have kaspersky paused. for some reason, safe mode with networking was not allowing the networking part but i will confirm this......added another screen shot of the kaspersky warning

cheers

yep that is your antivirus killing the repairs so what you need to do is go in safe mode. and the no networking issue if you see a red x over the network adapter its a lie windows 10 likes to say it has no connection in safemode when it does its weird.

ok so i tried rebooting into safe mode through the tweaking windows repair program and no safe mode was loaded at all. it rebooted as a normal start with everything enabled. should i manually start it in safe mode without using the windows repair program?

ok so all is good.....safe mode with networking did run and i was able to run the windows repair tool so no issues except that there was no internet connection which is why im just now responding. so maybe it was just safe mode without networking. not sure the repair tool would have run correctly though idk. other than that all is good

thanks for your guidance i appreciate it

cheers

oh another thing about safemode is if you are running with wifi 3rd party drivers don't load so even in safemode with networking you probably won't get internet unless you are hardlined in the router.

Win 10 is supposed to disable wireless in Safe Mode with Networking as it does in Win 8.1 so you would normally Ethernet connect, but if it isn't practical to do that, you can still use wireless in that mode.

At the desktop press CTRL+ALT+DEL then click on your WiFi icon in the system tray and then on your SSID and then on Connect.

Click on Cancel and then you'll see a normal WiFi icon.
