Delayed Start
« on: April 17, 2018, 01:32:57 PM »
How can I turn off the "delayed start" of this program?  I really like the "Windows Quick Links" I access from the tray, but it takes forever to use it as the toolbox icon takes minutes (it seems) show up after log-on.

Which option from the tray icon are you wanting immediate access to ?

As I mention in the post: "Windows Quick Links", but to have the whole thing available "Undelayed" would be great.

Well there are other things going when your machine boots up - perhaps Shane has set it that way so as to give your system time to settle down.

I will ask though why it has a delayed start.

I'd appreciate it.  It's more important to me than half a dozen other things that fire up immediately.

It isn't delayed that I know of.

Let me try some testing.

It can take perhaps about 20 secs (guess) for it to appear on one of my machines once it has fully booted but doesn't appear at all on another unless I open the program.

I learn something new every day.

It is setup for delayed startup in the task scheduler. The reason for this is to avoid a bug in windows where during startup a 3rd party program can freeze explorer. Exe for a few sec and so the tray icon doesn't get created.

What does it come under in Task Scheduler - I couldn't find anything for it.

Tweaking.com.

If your list is alphabetical it'll be near the bottom

It doesn't have a separate entry and there's nothing in the MS/Windows section.

Yes, - Thanks.

When I click on the Library I normally get the full index, but this time I got the list.

However, the Trigger for mine is at logon of any user and there doesn't appear to be any option to change the time delay - but I'm not used to working in there.

Right click the entry from the Master list.
Choose PROPERTIES...TRIGGERS...EDIT

Thanks, I've got that.

I'll leave it as it is on this machine but want to check why it only appears in the taskbar on another machine when the program is started.

I only have Tweaking.com in my Programs Files (x86) and there are quite a few items missing from Task Scheduler in comparison to my other laptop, including the tray icon.

Reinstalling the program has made no difference.

I've found the tray.exe - I hadn't expanded Tweaking.com in the Program Files (x86) and then the AIO.

Norton Security isn't even listed in Task Scheduler as having any triggers, so haven't a clue what's going on with this machine.
