Why this laptop using slow speed WIFI driver
Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g 54 Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter Driver.
And not using high speed WIFI drivers
Realtek RTL8188FTV Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter Driver
 Toshiba laptop
Microsoft Windows version 1903 (os build 18362.418)
insyde bios v 1.30

To confirm which adapter the computer is using, download inSSIDer3 - https://www.techspot.com/downloads/5936-inssider.html

As you will see from mine, in the left pane it displays which adapter it is using, but from the two you have listed, is the 802.11n one the right driver for the NIC you have installed ?

Click on NETWORKS and it will show you if you are on the best channel - your router's channel setting may be default set to Automatic which may not change to the best channel for you.
