Hi,

My printer is an HP 1102w. It's wireless but I have it connected via USB. However, I'm not getting any response when I try to print an envelope. The envelope size is 4.125 x 9.5.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you print any other Docs ?

If so, then see if reinstalling the program will resolve.

My Envelope Printer works fine.

Thanks. Yes, printing another document in MS Word worked fine. I'll try reinstalling Envelope Printer.

Hi Boggin,

I tried reinstalling the Envelope Printer program but I'm not having any luck. First I uninstalled the original installation and restarted my computer. Then I re-installed the program and restarted my computer after doing that as well.

Not sure what to do at the moment. I need to print over 100 addresses and I'd love to use this program.

Can you not type something into a Wordpad doc and see if that will print.

I don't think there's a lot that can go wrong with the program.

Are you using a printer supported envelope size.

If you are trying the multiple print option, try a single print to see if that works.

Thanks. Wordpad prints as well as other programs but Envelope Printer for some reason doesn't. I just printed using Wordpad to double-check.

It's great to hear that you think that there's not a lot to go wrong with the program. This program is amazing.

Sorry - I missed where you said you had already printed something using MS Word.

I don't know why it isn't printing when you have reinstalled it.

Let's see if reliability history or Event Viewer has anything recorded for when it failed to print.

Go Start - type reliability and press enter when View reliability history comes up.

There may be a red cross or an i for info.

Clicking on either for the date and then on View tech details will give more info in the next window.

Right click on the Windows button and select Event Viewer - ensure Event Viewer (Local) is highlighted in the left pane - if it isn't, just click on it.

When it has read the data, click on Error then on View All Instances of This Event in the lower right pane.

This will produce a list of date and time stamped errors.

Clicking on any will produce more info in the pane below.

Right click on the Windows button and select Event Viewer - ensure Event Viewer (Local) is highlighted in the left pane - if it isn't, just click on it.

But when there I don't see a Windows Button. Please see attached. From what I understand there should be a windows button on this page.

Apologies for not being clear.

When you come out of reliability history, the Windows button is the one on the taskbar to right click on which gives you access to a number of other utilities.

Alternatively. you could go Start - type eventvwr and press enter when Event Viewer comes up.

Thanks. I don't see "View All Instances" when I click on view. Also, I only see this is the upper-right hand corner.

I have attached an image - is this the "view" option you are speaking of?

No - as you will see from mine, when you click on Error, View All Instances of This Event will appear in the right pane.

User the bottom slider bar to see the right pane.

Thanks for your help yesterday. I completed the last steps you provided and learned that the envelopeprinter.exe stopped responding. Please see attached images.

Where do you think I should go from here?

You also have a hardware error listed.

Can you click on view tech details for that and post what it reports ?

What is that Utilities that is reported as being stopped ?

At looking at your pic again, I've noticed that they are listed as Critical events.

I was wanting you to click on Error and then on View All Instances of This Event.

Look for the time stamped errors that coincide with the print fail or you can try the program again and then check Event Viewer again.

Thanks for your help. Could you do me a favor and list the steps I should take starting with Event Viewer. I know there are just a few but I'm at a confused state right now

You can either right click on the Windows button and select Event Viewer or go Start - type eventvwr and press enter when it comes up.

Ensure Event Viewer (Local) is highlighted in the left pane - if it isn't, just click on it.

When it has read the data, click on Critical then on View All Instances of This Event then on the one that reports Hardware error.

Click on View tech details and let me know what it reports.

Use the back arrow top left of page then click on Error and again on View All Instances of This Event.

You are looking for a time stamped error for when you were unable to print the envelope.

Alternatively, try the program again and then check Event Viewer for the latest reported error if different to the previous reported error.

Leave Event Viewer open while you do that.

If a time stamped error exactly matches your attempt to print, click on it which will produce more info in the pane below that.

Click on Copy/Copy details as text in the lower right pane - right click in the forum reply box and select Paste.

I'll then be able to look at it to see if it will tell me anything.

If there is more than one with identical time stamps, copy and paste those as well.

Hi. I went through the steps you mentioned but could only get to the part where you wrote,

I tried to make a video of it but my app isn't working properly. So, I put together some images and numbered the steps. Basically, though, I couldn't reach "hardware error".

Well in your Reply#13 it clearly lists a Hardware Error dated for 12th May but your current Event Viewer doesn't record any Critical events for up to the last week.

I don't know what has happened there.

The Event ID 41 listed for the 28th April refers to a power shutdown you may have done.

Can you click on Error in Event Viewer and check for any records that tally with your fail to print or as I suggested that you try the program again and then any error will be the latest.

Can you also download MiniToolBox and check the boxes for Last 10 errors and List Devices with the Only problems button checked.

This will produce a report in Notepad - can you copy & paste that.

Can you click on the .NET Runtime error to see what info it gives for it - I can't see anything else that could apply.

EDIT - That is the .NET Runtime error in Event Viewer - sorry if I wasn't clear.

As the printer works for other docs then I don't think it will be anything on your computer that is blocking it, but to isolate all 3rd party programs, check to see if the program will print in Safe Mode with Networking.

You may need to Ethernet connect to get an Internet connection but you can manually connect to your wireless.

When you have booted into that mode, press CTRL ALT DEL then click on the WiFi icon in the taskbar then on your SSID and select Connect.

Click on Cancel where you will then see a full WiFi icon.
