Possible, minor, bug??

(1/1)

groston:
I just downloaded and installed Windows Repair (thank you!). Since this is a new program, I ran the optional Step 2 of the pre-scan.

It found a fair number of cases of 'Missing Default Reparse Point'. I looked at these, saw that the program was correct, and manually created each of the links that were missing (using mklink /D). Now, if one opens File Explorer on this machine, one can see that each of the reparse points is correct and working. Great.

However, when I ran Windows Repair, again after having made this fix, it still reports the reparse points as missing. This is really odd since they are all there and they all work. Since I suspect that I did stuff correctly, it is possible that this is a bug...

When I first got WR I also ran that scan and it found problems with my Reparse Points.

I hit the program's repair button and ran the scan again to check.

This was still showing problems with them so I hit the repair button again and on the next scan, that came back clean.

You try that and use the program's repair button rather than trying to do anything manually.

If it still shows problems on the next scan as it did on mine, then hit the repair button again and hopefully yours should also come back clean.

I think I once advised someone a while ago to run the scan twice as I had found I needed to.

Did my suggestion sort your problem ?
