All-In-One Program
« on: January 12, 2013, 06:48:02 AM »
Hi, I first just wanted to say many thanks for creating this program. I had spent quite a while trying to re-enable the Firewall on my W7 PC following virus removal. I'd tried several "Fixits", registry edits etc to no avail. Then I came across your program and tried that. Problem fixed !

I would also like to suggest a future enhancement for your consideration. I noticed that the "action centre" icon was not displayed on the taskbar on this PC and I was not able to turn it on via the systems icon menu as it was greyed out there . The following regedit, mentioned on several other websites, worked for me so I thought you might want to include it in "All-In-One":

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellServiceObjects\{F56F6FDD-AA9D-4618-A949-C1B91AF43B1A}]
"AutoStart"=""

Thanks again, Paul

Is this the same as going to the properties of the taskbar, notification are and system icons and turning the icon back to on?

Hi Shane,
The answer to your question is "no, not quite": The problem is that when trying to do what you describe the options to turn the action centre icon on or off are greyed out, so you cant do anything there. By applying this regedit, these options are restored so that the icon can now be turned on (or off) normally - just like the other icons (clock, volume etc)

This thread describes the problem:

http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/221034-unable-fix-action-center-notifications-after-virus-win64-sirefef-b.html

Please see the bit about "The Action Center tray notification icon (white flag) no longer appears"
Your tool  already nicely solves the problems discussed there re security centre and firewall - thanks !

Regards, Paul

So it is just a simple regkey fix. Which repair do you think I should add it to, or should I just make a new repair option for it?

Yes, just a simple reg fix. I think a new repair option would be best.
Thanks, Paul
