windows would not load cd/dvd rom
« on: March 07, 2013, 06:44:31 AM »
this is additional help for a cdrom or dvdrom problem.....and believe me its crazy that this worked for me...first I am an admin...i had a problem with my burner...it quite working because of either itunes or something else...but I think its itunes...I have a lenovo with windows 7 64bit on it.

I have to use regedit to remove keys...on this page...

basically I only removed the upper filters and lower.....but it worked right away and windows could find my drive again.

keep in mind...I unstalled this drive over and over....sfc /scannow....tried everything short of complete system restore!  this was the only thing that works.  So please add this as an option in the fix for cdrom or dvdrom...and help keep people from a complete reformat.   Have a nice day!

Thanks for the guide, this will help other users :-)

Also my "Repair CD/DVD Missing/Not Working" in my Windows repair does this as well
