Hi Shane

I know this is kind of trivial but. Do you use any programs to keep your drivers up to date?

I do not.

Only time I update drivers is when I have a problem. Such as a game crashing or so.

I do update my video drivers my self every few months, I am a big gamer on my PC. Other drivers don't normally need updating unless there is a bug.

Otherwise if it works why would you need to update?

Besides you know how many times I updated my video drivers for a game and it made things worse LOL

Okay thanks. I was curious, because I don't update that often.

There are definitely two schools of thought when it comes to updating drivers.  Those who say it is best to always use the most current drivers, and those who say it is best to only update drivers when it is necessary.  I am a driver whore.   However, I only keep a driver installed if I see no change or a positive change.  If a new driver hinders my performance, even slightly, off it comes!

Hey Shane,  I wasn't aware that you are a big PC gamer.  I guess that's one more thing we have an interest in.   We need to discuss this topic at some point.

Lets put it this way I have 191 games on steam alone lol

Games is my way of letting go of the stress. I do hit the gym as well and they both do the trick.

Playing skyrim right now. And yes when I play games like mass effect and dragon age I am always playing the good guy role lol I cant help it.

And on black ops I topped out at 3,000+ knife kills before I stopped playing it :-)

So I play games, am a family man and a business owner. There is a reason I don't go places very often, I don't have the time lol

I honestly don't play games on my cp. I don't have very much time to play games period. For the most part I work 12 hr days, almost everyday. I do get to play some on consoles though. I am interested in cp games. Do you guys recommend any, I wouldn't mind trying some out. After I ride my motorcycle of course of course.

I love games with a story. To me its like living a movie.

On that same note I don't have the time to put into a good story game. Take mass effect 1 & 2 and dragon age.

LOVE the story. I cheat my ass off. Unstoppable character saving every person I can.

Why cheat? Because I want the story more than the game play. I get lost in the world of it.

First person shooters are nice every now and then. But give me a story. Something my workaholic mind can focus on :-D

Try this one
http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/901242/

HUGE story and I cant wait for mass effect 3 :-)

Now wait a minute. Shane, the man who says, "When people ask "Why fix what isn't broken?" I reply "To make it better." is also saying "Otherwise if it works why would you need to update?"

That's an unusual way of confirming your beliefs, isn't it?

Update the drivers if you want or need to. Depends on how your system is running. Some updates don't necessarily mean better performance.  As far as making things better, there is a point where you can "tweak" to much, and your actually running slower. So, get just past the point where the tweak doesn't work, then pull it back a notch, you've made it better .

I feel like your trying to smack me in the face with a stick for some reason lol

I am a programmer. Just because there is a program out there already doesn't mean a new better one cant be done.

Shane,

No, actually I was only teasing you. I didn't know you are a programmer, but when I saw the two conflicting statements, I just had to toss the ball for you. Sorry but it was just too irresistible, this old man just couldn't walk away. If there was a way to do it privately, that's what I would have preferred.
