I thought you were trying to run it remotely on another machine which is why you would need to open that port ?

I'd just use a 3rd party uninstaller or its own uninstaller if it has one then reinstall it to clear any changes you have made to it.

6252
If you don't have a licensed copy on both machines then it won't connect and would produce an error.

6253
I wonder if this is why - https://www.oo-software.com/en/products/oodefrag/remote-control

Seems like a bit of a con.

6254
It shouldn't be trying to defrag your SSD - TRIM looks after that.

Does this program recognise a SSD to leave it alone ?

If you have already paid for the Pro version, when you go to www.tweaking.com and click on the download link, you'll be sent to this page  http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html where you can recover your product key after you have reinstalled the program.

Did you run the program in Safe Mode with Networking ?

I'd also download it in that mode as well should your antivirus program be corrupting the download.

I'm not sure if this would do it if you set the target computer with this http://www.microcentertech.com/tech_center/DB/read_article.php?faqid=./HowTos/HOW5004712B.htm

What year is ESS 8 - the earliest Google link I've found is for 2012 which is this YT video -

6257
I've just gotten 404 error on that link you've posted.

Would this article help you to unblock the port - http://support.eset.com/kb3112/?locale=en_US

The only inkjet printer I have experience of is my All in One Epson Stylus SX425W which I bought in 2010 and is no longer on sale.

I think it was probably end of life when I bought it as during its install, it took you online for a patch to make it Win 7 compatible - but it is a good printer.

A Google for recommended inkjet printers will get you a number of links and then after reading their reviews, go to Amazon and look for the item(s) on there where you can read the Customers reviews.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=recommended+injet+printers

I use generic inks in my printer which I get from www.stinkyink.com but I think they only supply in the UK.

A Google from your locale for generic printer inks should produce a list of similar companies.

6259
So have you just bought a new printer as the solution ?

6260
You don't normally try to do anything else when you are defragging a HDD - but what about your remote failure and that .dll error - what brought about the .dll error ?

6261
Well, Windows has already told you that this program doesn't work properly.

I'd give anyone credit for persevering with a problem, but if it remains unsolvable after three years then I think it's time to kick the program into touch as not being compatible with your system.

It may be because of what you have installed on your machines and perhaps seeing if you have any better luck by trying what you want to achieve in a clean boot will produce better results - that will be for you to pursue.

It may be firewalls - I don't know.....

6262
I would suggest that you direct your enquiries about setting up this program at one of these venues -

It sounds like an overheating problem.

If you are using a desktop pc then you should be able to see the temps in the BIOS but while in Safe Mode with Networking, download the free version of HWMonitor and that will show your temps as well as voltages.

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

With a desktop pc, it can also be caused by a faulty Power Supply Unit (PSU).

Their output can be measured with a multimeter, but not having a desktop pc or ever having done that - not sure of the procedure.

In HWMonitor check that the 12, 5 and/or 3 volt rails are about those values.

You can run the program in Safe Mode to see what they are and compare in normal mode if you can stay on that long to start the program.

BTW - You don't need any programs under the Startup tab unless they are security monitoring programs - they'll work fine when you boot them up as required and then you won't be unnecessarily using up memory and power.

6264
I just can't understand why you are chewing on like this.

What's so difficult that you can't just run Windows own defrag on whichever computer you want to do.

6265
What else do you have open when you try to run the program ?

6266
Has this program ever worked on your computer ?

6267
So I assume you are using a 3rd party defragger or is it one of their other programs ?

I have been getting the same error code when Adblock Plus has been crashing my IE 11.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled it and will see how it goes from there, but as your original post was regarding a dll, resolving those is usually done by reinstalling the program that uses it.

6268
Mine defaults to a card reader Epson Network Print port, but mine is a wireless printer, although I could have set it up to just use USB had my computer not had wireless capability.

So are there micro switches in the lid ?

As I don't know your machine, I don't know the significance of the lid - not a requirement on my Epson.

Under the General tab of the Printer properties there is a Print Test Page option.

Can you try that with the USB cable attached and without going through the lid procedure to see if it prints - while it's trying that or when it previously fails, see if giving the USB plug at the rear of the printer a waggle to see if it elicits a response.

6269
It's difficult to tell - what does the connection feel like ?

Does Event Viewer have any recorded errors for it.

What told you that you had the most up to date drivers for the printer - they are always best downloaded from the vendor's support site.

The fact that the printer does work until you plug in the USB cable would suggest that it's physical thing and perhaps the printer would need the attention of a tech - btw - how do you know the printer works without plugging the cable in ?

Without going back through your thread, I assume you have tried different USB ports ?

I don't have my printer installed on this laptop just yet as I'm in the middle of reinstalling bits and pieces following a factory reset, but have you checked the Printer properties/Port to see which port it is using when printing and what does it show when you plug in the USB cable.

I'm talking about the ports when you right click on the printer in Devices and Printers and select Printer properties.

6271
Can you get hold of another USB cable to try ?

6272
Do you have this defrag program installed - http://www.file.net/process/oodag.exe.html

If so then I would suggest either uninstalling/reinstalling the program or contact the vendor.

6273
Hi, Boggin
When i uninstall and opt for scan for hardware change, the unknown device comes back as usual

Then it has to be a driver installation problem.

You can either go to the printer support site for the drivers or uninstall the printer and reinstall.

6274
In Device Manager and Unknown Device, where you have the message (Code 43) click on the Driver tab and select Uninstall then click on Action/Scan for hardware changes.

This should reinstall the driver.

6275
Shane doesn't have any control of which adverts appear on the website, but that is a lesson for you look out for when downloading anything else, as that is how they (not Shane) try to sneak unwanted programs onto your system.

Anyway, glad you were able to get it sorted  :)
