Computer won't SLEEP
« on: May 23, 2014, 09:05:54 am »
My Windows Seven (Professional 64bit) won't go to sleep no matter what I set the Power Options at, and if I force it to sleep it comes out in a short time, and the screen saver won't work. I've done everything I can think of and not sure if one of the "tweaks" is the one to use ... but would love some suggestions.

Sleep mode has to do with the drivers, so most of the time updating all your drivers will do the trick. There is also options on some items in the device manager to not allow Windows to power it down to go to sleep. Also in the task scheduler tasks can be made to wake the computer to run them, so you should check those as well to make sure you dont have something waking the computer to run

Thanks ... I dread the thought of updating every driver one-at-a-time ... so is there a reliable program that provides an overall driver update ? I've seen Drive Booster but not sure if that one or any others do the job.

I never trust programs like that.

All you really need to find is the video, chipset and audio drivers and see if there is any updated versions :-)
