A couple of nights ago our windows apps stopped loading in our laptop.  We ran a bunch of things suggested by HP tech support to no effect.  We found and ran tweaking and it also did not help.  We've run the refresh function in windows 8 and tried updating the store app.   Nothing helps.  HP is telling us to reset the system which will mess up a lot of programming work, most or all of our data is stored in carbonite.  Any ideas to fix this will be greatly appreciated.
