Cannot install Windows Updates

Hello:
I am unable to install Windows Updates to my computer after they have downloaded.
After they download to my computer, it  says to restart and when I do that it says preparing to configure updates on computer. Then after a short time it says configuring windows updates. Says windows updates configured successfully and then shuts down. After it restarts I go to my control panel and click on windows updates and then on windows installed and it shows that all the updates failed to install.  I tried using your tweaking program but it does not correct the problem.  Can you offer any help

What is the error code, it shows in the event viewer log. There may be pending updates. Did you restart the computer after the updates. Sometimes it may update while on reboot. The problem may be pending updates may have some problems in installing or configuring. If you check the event viewer, it may show some signs of failed updates

Thank you for your response. I am not sure where I find the "event viewer log"

In looking through the forum at other responses I was told that I needed to download
System Update Readiness Tool For Windows 7 for x64 based system.

After I downloaded it then told me to install Hotfix for Windows KB947821

I tried to install and after computer was restarted it showed that this "hotfix" failed to install.
I feel sure that my problem has something to do with installing and configuring but I don't know how to correct that.

When you ran my windows repair tool did you make sure to run all the repairs? Also the even viewer may not show anything, instead we need to find the error number that was given of why it failed. Does that show anywhere when you check that it failed? If not I will have you grab the cbs.log file in "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS" that is the log for when the updates get installed :wink:

When the updates does not install I get a different error number each time.

The last time they tried to install the error number was 80246007
It does not say why they failed to install.
