Shane:
Did some more research, try this location

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

The Face of Bo:
Hello Shane,

Well, that might explain things. As you can see, there is no "Windows Update" key.

Shane:
OK good, I don't have any there either and we don't want any.

So it looks like it isn't a policy that is doing it. So lets keep trying a few other things  :cheesy:

Give this one a try and let me know.

The Face of Bo:
O.K., so this is typical of Microsoft and Windows, I guess. I ran the tests and the photos are included, then I restarted the computer. When I go to the Control Panel and click on Check for Updates, Windows tells me that I don't have Admin Privileges. But when I check if updates have been installed, the log shows that some updates have been installed recently. Weird, huh? So I don't know what the issue is!
Thank you so much for your continued help!!

Shane:
There has got to be some policy in place that is blocking it.

I did find this

Have you had your system connected to any domains or other networks at all?

This is WSUS
