(Solved) Problems with Lenovo bloatware

<< < (7/17) > >>

Boggin:
I'd mentioned this behaviour on another forum (I think) and was told that it did eventually complete.

Tone111:
Yes, I've had this same thing on my W 8.1 machine when running SFCFix, which I believe calls that dism command, and it sat on 20% for an absolute AGE :-\, but then to my surprise (just before I was about to kill it in task manager!) it did eventually finish and got through the other 80% considerably faster than the first 20! :)
Weird...

Lady:
Yoohoooooooooo!!  :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

He did finish it, just like you guys said! 100%, the repair was successful! The first time I waited at least an hour. This time it took somewhere up to 2.5 hours (I was away that long).

I will now do the sfc /scannow again.

Lady:
It sure is a party day today!! No errors found!

Is it much effort to tell me how to make a full external system image? I can look it up but that always takes up so much time and I have put SO much time and energy in this laptop already. :S

So does this mean that my laptop is now 100% healthy? And that next time I re-install I can use that image and do a clean install of W 8.1 without the recovery key of Lenovo so I won't get all their crap?

Boggin:
Well, that took a bit of Googling. I found what looked like a create and restore site but it was giving tap F8 to get into the Advanced Boot options which doesn't work in Win 8.1

One for creating a system image - and as you'll have D: Data drive for your Recovery image, then include that when creating a system image.

It's a bit long winded but you've already checked that your system is okay, you could skip read that bit - but it can still be educational.
