(Solved) Problems with Lenovo bloatware
Lady:
Okay, I'll start studying that. Thanks a million!
I think I'll do this overhaul action with Windows Repair All In One and the scans and repairs you showed me with my desktop too.
One last remark (if I don't run into issues with the system image): could you just humour me, Boggin? I'd really like to know if my laptop is in the best shape possible now. That would really make my day and I can start using it with a BIG smile on my face and being SO proud of having achieved that myself with your help! I honestly find that TOO cool! :cheesy:
Lady:
Oh, I have to add: I'm that enthusiastic because this is my first laptop! Only been on desktops before. And I look forward so much to going places with it!
Boggin:
Well, the system file checks have come up okay and I assume it boots up okay and any programs you have installed work when you fire them up - then I'd say that you were good to go :)
Lady:
Yeahhhhhhh, I'm happyyyyyy!!
Thanks again, all of you who helped me with this one. Your help means more to me than you know.
Bless you all.
Lady:
Okay, that didn't go as smoothly as I hoped.
For starters, there was no option for a system image backup when I opened File History with Windows-key+Q. See clipping 1 (is clipping the English word?) It's in Dutch, but trust me. :) I found the system image backup option in Control Panel > File History and then in the lower left hand corner. The first backup I made looked good on the outside but turned out to contain 0 bytes. Did it again and it was okay, nearly 30 Gb. Did it again because the time mentioned with the top folder did not match with the last backup (apparently that doesn't change once it's made :S, we live and learn). Since then every backup turns out to be empty. Why did it go right one time and the other times did it have zero content? And how do I get it right??
Any ideas?
