REGISTRY AUTO BACKUP SCHEDULE RUN AT USER LOGIN QUESTION
Samson:
You did n't need to add the icon to start up folder, not sure why you did that?
See the attached screenshot, follow 1 then 2
Nothing will show in the notification area, task scheduler will show the entry and task manager will show RB running at start up.
Delete current schedule and follow the above. If you reboot often everyday and only want one backup per day then check 1 backup per day as per second screenshot.
James:
ok, after reinstall over old install, Tweaking.. now running and shown in both services mentioned. Both settings you mentioned already setup that way, so all is cool there.
Also, programs I want to startup on reboot first, I put in the startup folder. That simple.
All is cool now, it seems. Sop will wait till morning I guess to see what happens another calendar day.
Thanks much guy, Jim
James:
Been up a while, but here is what is happening.
To make sure we are on same page as much as possible, I removed the tweaking.com shortcut from the startup folder.
On startup, tweaking.. does NOT run. No Tweaking...shown in task manager or process hacker unless and until I open it to run manually with a double click on the program shortcut in my desktop.
The run under system account radio button is marked.
Ran the create schedule button after deleting the current schedule but do not know what's happening because I did that.
The only do 1 auto backup per day box checked.
Now what, other than there has been no registry backup created.

OK, are we talking about Tweaking.com Windows repair AIO or the standalone registry backup?

If you are using tweaking.com windows repair AIO, then you can set it to run at start up in the settings options. It is not necessary to have it running at start up to create a registry backup, your choice.

OK.

Did you get a pop up to show that the schedule had been created? Also check in Scheduled Tasks to confirm.

OK

Where is your backup location? Default is on your C Drive under Regbackup, unless you have changed it?
Shane:
The registry backup will run at startup from the task scheduler but after 5 min. This is to give the system time to finish booting up and for all the startup programs to load. That way things are done writing to the registry as much as possible before the backup happens.
You can check the task scheduler to make sure has been ran in the past and make sure to give it 5 min when you login before you see it pop up. It will close when it is done so sometimes you may not notice it.
