Please let me know if you need more info.
Yesterday my Computer was freezing up 4/5 times after that I was looking around & found these files.
I found 2 suspended .exe files as I was looking at the resource Monitor (Attached) What does it mean?? & What do I do. Please Help me.

I am not on windows 10 right now, but the way to see if it is a good file or not is to go to the file itself, right click on it and go to properties and see if there is a digital signature tab and if it is signed by MS. If it is then it is part of 10 and is used to stop the apps, just like they do on a phone.

MS is treating windows like a phone now after all

When looking into this, I came across an article that said that Cortana was normally in a suspended state until used and as it may not always be used, this may not be the cause of the freeze.

Event Viewer may have more info on why and can be checked by the corresponding date and time stamps.

Click on Critical or Errors as applicable then on Show All Instances of This Event in the lower right pane.

So did Event Viewer have anything recorded for the time of the freezes ?

The odd one can happen to anyone but to get 4 or 5 would suggest that all was not well.

I don't know if Win 10 has View reliability history but if you go Start and type reliability it may come up for you to select and any stoppages will have a red cross for that date which you click on and then they will come up in the lower pane.

I couldnt get that to work for me but is any of these screen shots tell you anything OMG there are a lot of errors for the 26th

DCOM errors can sometimes be difficult to diagnose because they can apply to a particular application, but finding what that app. is can be a bit obscure.

This article using the built in dcomcnfg may do it for you.

However, it may have fixed itself as the last date for the error was the 26th.

Double click on DCOM Config and it will list all of the apps and then if it finds any problems, will ask if you want to register them.

That doesn't look good.

Hit the green download button in http://www.hdsentinel.com/ which will give you a 30 day trial version and under the S.M.A.R.T. tab (I think) will give a report on the status of your HDD, but when you get continuous Event 7 Disk errors, your HDD will be failing and you should back up immediately.

After that, opening a Command Prompt (Admin) and entering chkdsk /r may give you some respite but will show how many KBs in bad sectors it has found.

The full chkdsk report can be found in Event Viewer by expanding Windows Logs - click on Applications/Action/Find then type chkdsk or wininit into the Find box then press enter.

Cancel the Find box and then read the report in the scrollable window.

If you want to post its report, click on Copy/Copy details as text in the lower right pane then right click in the reply box and select Paste.

BTW - You may want to remove (Solved) from your thread title.

With a failing HDD it will be more of self help, but when a HDD needs replacing you may find it more practical to seek professional help.

PM Shane as you are in the same State and you may not be very far from him - although his current work load is more than I would give a donkey to do

I just realized that is the Back Up Drive, Drive F not my main Drive C: Does that make a difference in what I should do????

So is that a plugged in external HDD ?

That certainly puts your back up at risk but wouldn't have thought it would have affected your OS - but the fact that Event Viewer is picking up the errors on it may have a detrimental effect - but it definitely looks like you need a new back up HDD.

I would unplug it and after a reboot, check for any new errors in Event Viewer, but from the HD Sentinel report, your main one looks sound.

When you're done with HD Sentinel, uninstall it and that will stop the clock on the 30 days and then you can reinstall it from the Downloads folder as and when.

I thought it may have been an USB one.

Either way, it will need replacing as you can no longer rely on it to back up your stuff or restore from it as the data on it will be corrupt.

You don't get that many bad sectors within a few days - that's serious wear.

It's either one he's had on a shelf somewhere or it was defective from new.

Definitely worth boning him about it as there should be warranty on it if new, but either way, you have redress given the time frame.
