Boggin:
They are quite clear for AMD to see them in that log and hope you keep us appraised with what they come up with.

Boggin, I rec'd a reply from AMD support:

"Sorry we could not able to sort out the issue by having the log files. I suggest you to contact the laptop manufacturer for suitable help as you also have a Nvidia GPU which might have conflict with driver files of the AMD processor.

Thank you for contacting AMD Technical support."

I'd like to thank all of you dedicated gurus for all the help you've given me.  I'm going to turn this back over to the lady it belongs to now.  I found out (after all this work) that it's not going to be used for anything improtant.  At least I know that it's in a LOT better shape now than when I got it--and it's finally usable for the teen that's going to be messing it up again.  LOL

Thanks again.

Boggin:
I think the computer manufacturer would have known if there would have been a possibility of the Nvidia drivers conflicting with the AMD processor that they wouldn't have fitted them together.

This would annoy he hell out of me that I probably would contact the manufacturer - but if it works.....

Anyway, thanks for getting back to us with their reply.
