Most of the tools (known to me) requires a lot of space (10% free space) to defragment MFT (and other system files), also and user files require space on the disk.
I have too much data (and know somewhere it should be placed), other utility requires less space on your hard drive (consolidation of free space.
fast defragmentation of files, other technology to optimize file)
Even if defragment files on their space will be new fragments (if ever something save and modify data on the disk)
Best preventing fragment  (inteligent write) http://www.condusiv.com/defrag/intelliwrite/

You still need a min of free space for Windows to work, but installing 3rd party programs is going to reduce that free space further and Virtual Memory relies on free space as well - but the choice is yours.

Smart Defrag 4.3 (freeware)
defragment the MFT, pagefile and hibernation files at boot time.
I use the system on the SSD drive, but the data stored on the HDD.
The average size of each file is 1MB - Small file on disk reduce the effectiveness
  and performance. For me, it does not much matter,  I am not a maniac, I do not use RAID only office work, daily work.
