Julian:
i'm waiting for a response from shane as he is double checking his code but i've found this article to be interesting to read as i was waiting for his response. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/942974/on-a-windows-vista-based-or-windows-7-based-client-computer,-you-can-still-access-offline-files-even-though-the-file-server-is-removed-from-the-network

Ntense:
Yes, that's how it's supposed to work. Specific to my situation, I have a domain computer with sync partnership set up (desktop and documents are synced to a server). Offline files are enabled so there is a local cache on the PC for those synced folders (located in the CSC folder). As expected, I can access all files on the desktop and documents when the PC is removed from the network. However, after running the repair, all cached data is deleted and thus requires a full sync when the PC is reconnected to the network. Normally, this isn't a problem, just requires a bit of time. However, if there's a sync error and the user has a file that hasn't been synced to the server before we run the repair and that file gets deleted, then we have a problem.

Julian:
shane found it. so the repair #13 repair network does it and the reason being is
--- Quote --- "This is part of the repair because the offline cache can become corrupt"
--- End quote ---

Ntense:
Thanks!

A request: Can you tell me exactly what the Network repair does? I looked in the repair info for #13 and no where does it mention anything about offline cache. Also, would it be possible to get an option to exclude clearing the offline cache during network repair?
