Boot times are in need of attention
mrwoof:
Acer E1-571. Win 8.1 / I7 3rd gen / 6 Gb Ram
I see my boot times are in need of attention.
Performance Times:
Power on – Black screen to “Please wait” 57”
Log in till Desktop appears, additional 33”
Icons load additional 16”
Disc activity (task manager) show 100% for another 2'.30”.

I have minimal start up programmes (see attch)
Installed & run : Defender, Malwarebites,JRT, Adaware & Hitman Pro.
SFC reads all well. I ran the tweak repair tool and attch logs though to my eye, all appears well.

You can get by without anything in your Start-up menu - I only have the Realtek HD Audio Manager enabled in mine.
Have you clicked on Memory to sort to see if anything is hogging ?
Are all of your drivers up to date and does Event Viewer record anything that could be slowing things up ?
mrwoof:
Found this "error" in Event viewer. Unable to decypher this myself. Will check memory presently
I had put the Superfetch service on manual & have changed back to "delayed start", will observe...
