Boot times are in need of attention

I'm not sure if that would cause the extremely slow boot times but open a Command Prompt (Admin) and enter sfc /scannow to see what that reports.

As I mentioned in first post, ran SFC  and all reported in order.

Sorry I missed the bit about the sfc /scannow but as that error was dated for the 9th, I don't think that will be causing problems and could just have been a one off.

The Task Manager isn't showing anything to be concerned about.

One thing I don't like about Win 10 is that the Boot log info in msconfig doesn't work - with that you could see the drivers loading as you booted.

Loading drivers can slow things up and the wireless connection is usually the last to load,

I'd have a look in Device Manager/View/Show hidden devices and expand each of the main hardware - right click on each then click on Update Driver Software.

I don't normally rate Windows for updating drivers but sometimes it can find an updated driver for some.

When you expand Network Adapters, check to see if you have incremented MS ISATAP adapters.

They are a sign that Windows has had problems wirelessly connecting.

You can right click on any and select Uninstall as you only need the original, but it may be worth updating or reinstalling the wireless driver.

You can reinstall the driver by right clicking on the wireless adapter - Update Driver Software - Browse your computer - Let me pick... click on one then on Next where it will install.

thanks for that, what do you think is causing the 57" delay before I get "please wait" on initial boot?

I don't know but I'd be tempted to do a repair install if all drivers are up to date.

I don't think reliability history will have anything of note to report, but you could check.

EDIT - Can you go to the Acer support site and check to see if they have a BIOS or Chipset update ?
