A sneak preview of V4

Boggin:
So it will have physically created the restore point in Win 7 as it does in my Win 7.

While I haven't tried to restore with it, my problem is that it doesn't physically create a restore point in my Win 10.

Can you create another restore point both though the program and through System Protection and take the same precautions as I have to recover from a system image when you try the restores through System Protection and then through the program.

Doing the System Protection created one first will tell you if they are working.

Try both in Safe Mode to eliminate an antivirus program from interfering.

Bought the 3-computer license for Repair v4 yesterday, applied to an existing stable system on a Dell Optiplex 960, Win 7 SP1, all updates, which has been gracefully maintained with occasional applications of Repair V3 repairs over the past few years.

However, I removed V3, restarted, installed V4, restarted in "Safe" mode (which, btw, is really "unsafe" mode!), and ran V4 Repair with requisite "Power Drain" and all other steps, and ran a second time.  System ended up being very, very, VERY slow...sometimes took over 90 seconds for another newly-opened window to appear, and then it might not be responsive to a mouse click.

I rolled back to my C: backup from the night before.  V4 might need some further testing?

While I direct downloaded v4 onto v3 I haven't ran it yet on my Win 10.

I'll update the program on my Win 7 and see if I get a case of slow after I've ran it and get back to you.

If you are talking about a browser window slow to open, run a cmd prompt as an admin by going Start - type cmd - right click on cmd and select Run as administrator - accept the UAC and type the following cmds, pressing enter after each.

netsh winsock reset catalog

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

shutdown /r /t 00

and then see how they perform after the reboot.
