I believe that is what I'm doing. I did it once and loaded the proprietary drivers from the mfg and things immediately slowed down. So now I have done it again, the proprietary drivers, and it is running like I think it should. Now to install my programs.

Good - I wasn't sure if you meant you were going to do a clean install which is why I pointed that out that recovery method.

A clean install is what it said in Recovery, for the second try, but my files are still there. The first try was a reset and said many windows setting would not change.
Boggin:
A clean install is when you boot up with install media and install afresh, but a full reset which removes everything is the equivalent of that.
The other option is to keep your personal stuff.

Not sure then. All my files are here and machine is running like never before. Maybe problem solved! Now to install program that started all of this.
