Can't get into Safemode even with Shane's Program
Boggin:
Okay - I'll be around for about another 25mins as it's 11:20pm now in the UK.

This is what it shows: Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.
Boggin:
I've found this article on Google which deals with that error but create a restore point before applying the script.

As I appears to be a WMI error, you could either run the WMI repair from within the Windows Repair program or run these cmds to reset the WMI and then see if Event Viewer records anything.
winmgmt /standalonehost
winmgmt /resetrepository
regsvr32 wmisvc.dll
winmgmt /resyncperf
exit
I'll hang on until you have tried those but it is getting late here in the UK.

Doesn't seem to have any affect on getting into safe mode. Good night. I went out for Thanksgiving dinner.
Boggin:
Happy Thanksgiving - I hung on until 12.15am UK time as I couldn't keep my eyes open much longer :)
To give you an idea of the time difference for us, the time of this post for me is 09.46am which you can compare to the time stamp you see for it.
Other than the bcdedit cmds, those steps to deal with the Event Viewer error you are getting were to deal with that error and not the one you are experiencing with Safe Mode.
Check Event Viewer again after trying Safe Mode to see if it has recorded anything.
