Can't get into Safemode even with Shane's Program
Boggin:
Not sure what you are now saying "STILL won't stay in safe mode".
Are you now saying you can get into that mode but it won't stay in that mode
Does Event Viewer have anything recorded for when you tap F8 as you switch on ?
There are other bcdedit cmds which could get you into those modes if you can get the bcdedit cmd accepted.
Try with both current and default as the identifier.
bcdedit /set {current or default} safeboot minimal
bcdedit /set {current or default} safeboot network

Check my original post as I describe in great detail the issue with getting booted out of safe mode. I wiped the drive clean and installed Windows 7 from scratch. Where do I look in event viewer to see F8 events? Thanks.
Boggin:
How do you mean, you get booted out
In Event Viewer with Event Viewer (Local) highlighted in the left pane, when it has read the data, click on Error then on View All Instances of This Event in the lower right pane then click on a time stamped error for when you were booted out of safe mode where more details will appear in the pane below.
The wording may be different in the lower right pane.
You could try safe mode which will put a more recent error in Event Viewer.
Can you try those bcdedit cmds to see if they will get you into safe mode or safe mode with networking.
If they fail then they may also add something to Event Viewer.
Boggin:
Were you able to get into safe mode in Win 10 ?
madhouserevival:
No problem with Windows 10. Gonna take me some time to go through the event viewer. I'm going to attempt to get into safe mode right now so I trigger a fresh event.
