Has anyone had any luck finding a way to eliminate the exit message in Gmail? I have attached a copy of the message to this inquiry.

Thanks.

I've never seen that with either of my two gmail accounts.

Can you run a scan with the free ESET Online Scanner and use another machine/device if possible to change your gmail password.

https://www.eset.com/uk/home/online-scanner/

Let me know if ESET finds anything.

Hi, Tom. Thanks for the quick response.

I have been running Malwarebytes along with Windows Security (WS is tuned to exclude MWB and vice versa) and they have never kicked anything out at me.

This has been going on for a long time and I finally decided to look for a switch or a setting to turn it off, but there does not appear to be any.

A friend told me that he thought it might be that there is something still going in the background and that is why it is warning me, but when I click "leave", nothing seems to be wrong and it exits. Every now and then when I open Gmail and check for new mail, if there is none and I close it again, I do not get the warning.

I am puzzled, but I can live with it if I have to.

I ran the scan as you suggested, but it did not find anything out of line.

I will keep pecking away at it and if i do come up with something positive, I'll let you know.

My first thought was that your gmail had been hacked and that as you weren't making any changes then someone/something else was, but as you don't get it every time, I Googled it and found others were experiencing it as well and without a solution to be found on the Gmail forum.

It's puzzling why some get it and others don't.

Which browser are you using - I'm using Internet Explorer.

To eliminate it as being anything installed on your machine, when you check your email, can you check it in Safe Mode with Networking.

All 3rd party programs are isolated in this mode, although it will be an inconvenience doing it this way until you do have an email to open to see if it still happens.

Good feedback, thanks.

I am using Edge (latest incarnation) and I also use Google Chrome sometimes, but it occurs with both.
